In summary

White Oaks Golf Course is praised for its friendly and welcoming staff, scenic layout, and well-maintained greens, making it a popular choice for golfers of all levels. The course's natural landscape and challenging design are highlighted as standout features, with many visitors appreciating the relaxed atmosphere and reasonable pricing. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, particularly in distinguishing fairways from roughs, and have experienced slow pace of play due to the lack of organized tee times.

My grandson and his friends played here recentley. . The course itself was very nice, and the woman working there was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, their experience was overshadowed by a man at the course who repeatedly harassed them. They arrived around 1 PM—well before closing—and were respectful, even letting smaller groups play through. Despite this, he told them to hurry, used foul language, and called them “a bunch of drunks.” Before they left, he also took photos of two of the players’ license plates, which was very concerning. It’s disappointing because this group of young me…

Challenging course. Be VERY careful coming down the hill from the 8th tee box if the cart path is wet. You may find yourself in a predicament. The cart path is slick with algae when wet and the carts slide down the path if you aren’t careful. Fairways were a bit thick with grass clumps from recent rains and the greens were pretty slow and spongy. But still a good course and overall well maintained.

If your looking for a course with GREAT bones Its an amazing layout. Fun is off the charts.....Rocky was working is always willing to helping share local knowledge everyone we met were first rate. The greens and fairways although still dormant but this summer with a warmth will be spectacular the 8th hole from 300 hundred feet up was a blast (Go to the top and hit it) And as Hickory golf the course works well.....

Great layout, excellent greens! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Fairways were retaining quite a bit of water which made for muddy conditions. Definitely play this course but wait til there has been a solid week of dry weather. 👍👍👍👍

While down in the area for a family wedding we stopped by white oak and were overwhelmed by the kindness of the worker and owner that greeted us in the clubhouse, it was an excellent way to start the day. The layout of the course was fantastic and the greens were in incredible shape. Next time I am in the area I will certainly be playing again.

Great golf course off the beaten path. Condition was great for the time of year and some of the views were pretty impressive. Walked nine and couldn’t ask for more for the price I paid. I don’t recommend walking when you get to hole 7 though!

Sold.. Driving north from Florida to Cincinnati and I needed to stretch my legs…chose sunset in Athens to play 9. Super happy I called here first. Simple, but challenging course. One of the toughest dog leg lefts on hole 7 if you get super aggressive. Hole 8 is just plain ridiculous, but what a fun hole. Super well kept greens with great tee placement. Solid finishing hole on 9. Finished 3 over and I blame 8 and 9. Wonderful staff, Autumn (??) recommended the homemade chicken salad and it was perfect! I was informed it’s under new ownership, young couple making lots of improvements. Let me…

Went for the first time on a Saturday. No tee times here so just show up and get in line to start. Waited maybe for two groups ahead to go off. Wasn’t a big deal. The pace of play was decent for a Saturday. Course was in good shape and the greens were nice. Course is good for any level golfer. Fun little layout. For the price it’s a good deal. Talked with the owner after the round and seems like they have some great ideas to improve the course. A whole lot of potential out here. Great beer selection in the clubhouse is a huge plus. Will be back.

Course with a ton of potential but lacking in a baseline of upkeep. Most fairways felt like roughs and the holes looked like they hadn't been moved in awhile. From what I understand they have new owners as of a couple of years ago, and some bigger improvements are under construction, just would love to see the general upkeep in a better place. The staff was excellent and carts were in solid shape. The course has a good feel and I would love to come back after hearing how they are down the line!
