White Tail Golf Course in Maine is appreciated by some visitors for its welcoming owners, scenic setting, and well-maintained fairways and greens, especially given challenging weather conditions. The course offers a peaceful golfing experience with limited starts and affordable prices. However, others have criticized the course for its lack of amenities, such as a pro shop or refreshments, and reported negative interactions with staff, as well as issues with course maintenance and accessibility for disabled guests.

Stopped in to play 9 while traveling through Maine and was met warmly by the owners of the course. No, it's not your local country club, but it is however a uniquely Maine golfing experience. Limited starts throughout the day ensure that you're never pressed and can fully enjoy your round. I found the owners, course, and the process to refreshing and urge them to continue to be unapologetic in the way they choose to run their golf course. I'll play White Tail again if I'm ever in the area...just give them a buzz ahead of time.

I've played twice in the last three weeks at Whitetail, and enjoyed it thoroughly both times. The course is relatively open (fewer lost balls than normal for me) and I thought the fairways and greens were in great shape, especially given the dry conditions. The owners take care of the course and they are very pleasant to talk with. My friend and I will definitely be back!

This golf course is not a friend to the disabled. My grandson plays golf for Corinth and all of his home meets are at this course. I am physically incapable of walking this course but they refuse to allow parents or grandparents to use the golf carts, paid or otherwise. This means I have to miss all of his home meets AGAIN this year, his senior year. Every other golf course he plays at allows me to use a golf cart so I can watch the meet but not Whitetail. I find this so frustrating!! How can their liability issues be different from every other course he plays at??? As I said, they are NOT A F…

My first time and my last time here. The course itself was not bad. We had four in our group and we all had to give our first and last names and the lady wrote them down - don’t know why. Then we got a briefing before hand of every hole, good rules and etiquette and on and on. No course does this. Ever. Carts need to be replaced - the seats are old and look rough. The “clubhouse” is a joke. Don’t even know why they have one expect for a bathroom. There are no drinks or snacks to purchase at this course. There is no ranger cart that has a cooler for purchasing drinks or anything. Bottom line -…

A group of us in the area for a weekend rafting trip took a shot in the dark and played a round at Whitetail. There were only two Google reviews, 1 a 5-star and the other a 1-star so I wasn't sure what exactly to expect. To our delight the course and owners were GREAT! They were very pleasant and welcoming to our group of 7. We had the beautiful course basically to ourselves on a FRIDAY night, and all for some of the most affordable prices I have every payed. They do prefer cash but that was stated clearly to me over the phone when I made my Tee time. We will be back!!!

Whitetail is our favorite golf course in Maine. It is absolutely gorgeous! The fairways and greens are expertly taken care of. We see deer, wildlife, and panoramic views. Not many people come here and that's one thing we like about it, a great place for me to learn how to play. Bring a picnic lunch and go play golf at white tail, a real Maine adventure.

Me and my son had gone to play a round of golf, first time at this course. We were treated TERRIBLY. Looking for my ball, apparently we ventured “off the path” even though there was a blazed trail that was apparently for equipment, not a cart, the lady there decided to scream and yell at us and give us a “warning”. She decided that talking down to me was a great idea and scaring my son to the point he didn’t want to be there anymore. We left, money refunded. Fairways were in the same shape as the rough, greens were slow, fairly long. The overall play of the course was not the issue though, ob…

Decided to give it a second chance and went to play 9 today and was warned the course was in rough shape due to grubs/birds/skunks. Not a big deal to me at all. Things happen. Rough shape was definitely an understatement. The greens that weren’t completely dead, looked like they hadn’t been cut in a week. Tee boxes were the same way. Even basic groundskeeping work wasn’t done! The fairways were just complete dust. They have irrigation, but I don’t think it’s been on in quite some time. There is no pro shop at all and you still have to pay with only cash 🙄 the carts barely run and the owner sai…
