In summary

Wilderness Woods Golf Club is frequently praised for its scenic layout, well-maintained fairways, and attentive staff, providing a generally enjoyable golfing experience. However, several reviews highlight significant issues with the greens, citing them as poorly maintained and affecting the overall quality of play. While many visitors appreciate the course's beauty and challenging design, there is a notable call for improvements in green conditions to match the club's otherwise high standards.

Absolutely fantastic golf experience from start to finish. The course was in pristine condition with some of the best greens I’ve played on — smooth, fast, and perfectly maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making everyone feel welcome from check-in to the final hole. Pace of play was excellent too; we finished our round quickly without ever feeling rushed. For the quality of the course and service, the value was outstanding. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great day of golf.

Course was in unbelievable condition for it just being April. Greens rolled fast and true. Pace of play was great. And the new lunch menu was amazing! Cant wait to go back.

We go here every year during the summer. Great weather and the course is always in great shape. I love the elevated tee boxes, just call ahead and ask if there are any corporate outings because it is very popular. Everyone needs to go at least once or ten times!

Played last week while staying at the Wilderness Resort. Great layout, each hole has it's own personality. Challenging set of par 3s. Greens were quick and receptive to well hit shots. Pins were in some tough, tucked positions the day we played. All the staff we interacted with were nice except the starter who got out of sorts with us driving up to the first tee 15 minutes before our tee time. Course was in really good shape especially considering the drought affecting the area. It's in my top 5 courses I've ever played.

First time golfing here and I completely disappointed in the condition of the greens and most of the fairways. The rest of the course was in end of season shape, but the greens were filled with large patches of dead grass, mud and hard-packed dirt. Definitely not worth the greens fees. The fairways were full of divots from all the other people that have played the course over the year and not bothered to repair them. I've played me municipal courses for half the price in better condition in the last week.

Being from the south we don’t get to see the pure beauty of this course often. Great staff that went above and beyond to make our round a truly special one

Just returned from a 3 day golf trip with 26 guys. I had read the critical reviews and I was not very optimistic about coming here. Well I am glad we did. The course was beautiful. Yes there were 3-4 greens that clearly had severe problems. Those greens seemed to be the ones in heavily shaded areas. The greens keeper has a challenge to keep those shaded, secluded greens in top top condition. Play the course. Enjoy it. It is still worth it. Period.

One of the best in shape courses around. Nothing to complain about at all. Will be back again!

For being a USGA qualifing course, Wild Rock definitely earned it because it is one of toughest courses to play. Many scenic holes with scenic views of the canyon. Many undulating greens and challenging holes that require putting the ball on right tier because without it, it leaves you a tough two putt. One of the best that I have played outside of Sand Valley Erin Hills and Whistling Straits. It is a big boy course.

First time golfing here and I couldn’t believe how terrible the condition of the greens was. The rest of the course was in great shape, but the greens were filled with large patches of dead grass, mud and hard-packed dirt. Definitely not worth the greens fees.

Only course that you pay top $$$ to play on half the greens, because the had them roped off. Also, they were sanded in mid summer. The only reason 2 stars are I'm hoping the couse comes back.

I've played this course for years, typically coming up once or twice each summer from Milwaukee. It's an amazing layout which guarantees an enjoyable round. Of course, that's IF it's taken care of properly. Unfortunately the course is in a state of complete disrepair. Tee-boxes left un-mowed and un-repaired from prior play. Sand traps that haven't seen a machine in awhile with weeds growing on the edges. And greens that you wouldn't find on a typical back woods nine hole municipal course. Over 50% of the complexes were burned out, killed off by fungus, and generally just dirt. There were a few…
