What People Say

In summary

Willow Metropark Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, friendly staff, and scenic layout that offers a mix of challenges with water hazards and sand traps. The course is generally considered a good value, with amenities like electric carts and a pleasant setting. However, some visitors have raised concerns about slow pace of play, tee time management, and the practice of pairing strangers in carts, which can detract from the overall experience.

I went to check out the practice areas - driving range, chipping area, and putting green. The range and chipping area are across the little road from the main course parking lot. The driving range is large and allows you to hit off of turf rather than mats. A bonus in my book. The chipping area is great but the green is really just more turf, so you don't get a great feel for ball roll but at least let's you dial in short wedges. The putting green has metal stakes rather than cups, but still let's you get a feel for how the greens are playing.

Pretty dumpy as of June 2026. Tee boxes full of divots, swampy and patchy greens, flooded in other areas.

Very nice layout with nice Greens and tee boxes. Some fairways were in rough shape because of excessive rain amounts lately. A long way from my house, But I'll be back 👍

Great golf course, well maintained and fun to play. Some challenging water hazard and sand traps but overall pretty open fairways which great for a guy that can’t hit a straight ball to save his life…

Nice course at Metro Park standards. Well kept greens and fairways. Friendly staff. Best part, carts have cleaners for ball and clubs; and yes, they do have water in them, that's a definite plus. Can't say much about the people who play there. Ball divots are not repaired anywhere, including the greens. Bunkers are not raked and you can see foot marks and clubs marks from the people that played ahead of you. Not the problem of the management, just the players have to have some etiquette

Horrible experience today. Had a tee time this morning for 3. Was told the rules of driving a golf cart near greens and bunkers and warned that we would be kicked off the course if we didn’t adhere. Who talks to 3 adults like they are children? Was then told a fourth would be riding with us. Thought that was oddly worded as sometimes you may be paired with other players but not “riding with you”. Sure enough, in the fairway of the first hole a fourth player was driven by the starter to ride in my cart and join our group. Only at Willow…In my 40+ years of golfing I have never been paired with a…

Great golf course for an excellent price! The conditions of the course were good and the beauty of the course is very wonderful! I recommend playing here and at the other Metroparks Golf Courses in the Southeast Michigan region.

The tee time management is terrible. Rather than waiting for your time, just go off when you get there. This causes aweful congestion because it creates multiple groups from one teetime because the people dont show up at the same time. Groups of 1, 2, and 3 players stacking up. We walked off after 9 because it took 2.5 hours. A starter and a ranger is desperately needed.

This course was fun to play. The front nine sits a bit low, so the course was damp in the morning and the greens were a bit slow. The back nine seems to have higher elevation and is a bit more open. The condition of the greens were pretty good with the exception of the unrepaired divots (cmon people!). There was no standing water and mosquitoes were not a problem. Some reviews mentioned that the course is narrow, but I didn’t find that to be the case. The staff were super friendly. Carts are gas, and they will be converting to electric. Decent course and good value. I’ll be back! If you apprec…

Absolutely horrible pace of play/poor Tee time management. Had to wait 20 min after my start time to even Tee off, ended up having to skip through 4 holes, waited in the cart more than we played

Had an excellent time at the course this morning. The course was well marked and was challenging enough for someone just learning. I’ll definitely return!
