This course truly exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. Mike went above and beyond to make us feel welcome- helping us get set up with push carts and sharing valuable course insights that made a real difference in our round. His hospitality was outstanding and set the tone for a great day. Despite it being mid-November, the course was in beautiful condition. The fairways were well-maintained, the greens rolled true, and the fall colors added a scenic charm that made the experience even more memorable. Winnetka Golf Club combines excellent service with a picturesque layout, and…

Course was fine, bad rangers and management. After playing on a fairly acceptable tendered course, we got scolded by the ranger at the turn saying we were behind even though our cart said we were 15 minutes ahead of pace, claiming we were a 9 am tee time and he “was tracking our carts” even though we were 9:10 and our carts say we were ahead of pace. And don’t even think about bringing it to management, as they will scoff in your face and claim they were mistaken even after the ranger called us stupid, ruining the day’s vibe and wish to return

I visited Winnetka Golf Club recently without realizing it was a municipal course — so in fairness, it’s probably not the right fit for me long-term. That said, I wanted to leave a balanced review for others who might be considering it. The course itself is actually quite decent — especially for a public facility. The putting green is solid, and the driving range is respectable, with enough space to get a real practice session in. Not elite-level, but definitely good enough for casual or routine play. What didn’t work for me was the overall atmosphere. Many players were dressed in very casua…

Overpriced....played today and we're a 4some and played in 4 hours. (Which was great). What wasn't great is having a ranger tell us to "speed" up because there were 2 open holes in front of us, however remained on time. Just because there are open holes doesn't mean a group is slow. Not impressed, played Sunset in Highland Park much better track and run better.

The course is nice. The greens are in great shape but they will get faster when the cut them but they are still new from the renovation. The course is tight with a lot of water, trees and sand and made for a great challenge. This makes picking the correct tee box important. The starter could not be any nicer and made the start of the round very pleasant. Pace was good we played at 7:20am on a Sunday and finished in under 4 hours. Overall our group really enjoyed the course and will be back.

A beautiful course and nicely maintained when I played in Fall time. The starter staff Arthur is very kind when I told him I am the first time to play on this course. The pro shop staff is also kind and friendly. I like this course and will play often.

Had a very fun time at this course. Don't leave reviews often but this place should have a much higher rating. Great people and course was in great shape.

Greens were rolling extra pure. Nice facility as well. You must keep the ball straight off the tee. Not a lot of opportunities to let the big dog eat off the tee here. Tight and narrow fairways with trees on either side. Play smart, boring golf here. Our starter, Bob, was awesome - just a good dude.

The renovation is fantastic! Highly recommend giving it a try if you’re on the fence. I was pretty wowed my first round back. It’s tight off the tee, and not easy, but was really fun to play.

This facility is fabulous. The championship golf course can give you a harsh dose of reality if you hit it way off the fairway as there are huge trees that definitely come into play. The professional staff is amazing especially Matt Johnson. He has been a great leader and has a top notch staff that truly cares about your experience at The National.

Decent 18 hole course and just average par 3 nine hole course. Very polite staff, open to the public, fair prices, and usually available tee times. Well maintained course, not too difficult but some long fairways. Traps are easily avoidable.

Fine course, but very poor customer service. Went out as a foursome with my family of mixed skill level. Ranger was incensed that we stopped to pick up refreshments at the turn, wouldn't allow a faster moving group behind us play through, and instead made my group skip holes to stay on pace, a solution that confused both us and the groups behind us. As the ranger got done yelling at us on the 10th tee, he sped off in his cart and knocked over my clubs onto the cart path, and couldn't have cared less. Dude, this isn't Augusta, chill.
