Great fall golf for the beginning of November! With a frost delay of about an hour the starter was able to have the course operating on-time by noon. I even went off a few minutes early for a 1:50 tee time. Course is in good shape and they were actively blowing leaves from the fairways and greens. Staff was great, no complaints from me!!

Great public course. Amazing place to learn how to play and enjoy the sport. Kenny, Rachel, and the Proshop staff are awesome couldn’t be more welcoming! Wish they still had a teaching pro, but there are some nice people at the range that can always give some nice advice.

This place sums up “Local Muni” as it is a fine course but nothing special. I’m just gonna keep it short and sweet. Brought my wife out in spring of 2015 and had a pleasant time. Decided to come back with my kids in June. The greens are straight dogwater. An arnold palmer can be purchased for the “cheap” price of 3.50 cents. The range balls were bought of tiktok shop. The pin locations aren’t the best. But it’s a great place to learn how to play the game.

Second time to Algonkian, and remembered why I haven’t been there since before Covid - the starters. The starter was rude, did not listen to me, and was weird about which golf cart for me to take. He ended up giving me two keys (I gave one back) and continued to lecture me on things he already lectured me on (cart path only, when to have the cart back in, etc). We were on the tee box for our last hole a 5 minutes before we had to have the carts in and he demanded we pick up our bails and pack it up. The cheaper rates than other areas courses are not worth the lackluster experience with the sta…

Unfortunately had to change my rating since it was several years ago that I wrote it. I would recognize that the course is in great shape. My experience was extremely poor, maybe at the age of 55 I'm getting old. I don't think people should be allowed to play music so loud you hear it from 200 yards away (I'm being conservative). I also do not believe the port o potty on the 15th tee has been cleaned since pre-covid. There is a tree growing inside of it, full of ticks. So if you need to be infected, that's a good place to start. I asked for it to be cleaned, and two weeks later it is untouched…

Nice course, it’s a shame they let the older regulars treat it like their country club. Played here on and off for 15 years not 1 time has a “Marshall” done anything about slow play. Got paired with a family of new golfers who were playing a bit slow they tried their best to keep up. Got stopped by the Marshall and told to pick it up. We did, all is well, managed to stay a hole ahead of the group behind. Got talked to by a Marshall again on 9 after we were a hole and a half ahead. Ridiculous. Talked to the “volunteer” inside and he basically just fed me a bunch of bs about how he didn’t have t…

Unfortunately, the greens were not in the best shape. However, it was due to maintenance - plugging, adding sand, and an inch of rain 2 days prior. Our foursome actually plugged 5 balls on the greens, nearly totally below the surface. We repaired as best we could. They seems to have not been cut very recently. Even downhill putts had to be given extra muscle. But I get it. Maintenance HAS to be done. That aside, I felt the course was in pretty good shape. Play moved along at a respectable pace. Played at Algonkian MANY times over the years, and it never really has disappointed me.

Great course. Narrow fairways and rough is not too deep. You would assume it is easy but it is a challenging and fun course to play at. Staff are great and pleasant and the facility is very well maintained….

I’m a beginner to golf for some context and i went to the golf course with some of my other beginner buddies. We were hitting from the red tees and keeping a decent pace. We were even sometimes waiting for the people in front of us but we still had a terrible time with the staff as they constantly pressured us and essentially berated us over the course of the time we were there. The staff in the golf shop were nice and the course itself was nice but the staff on the actual course were terrible people and outright rude. BEWARE BEGINNER GOLFERS

As a very beginner golfer (as in a month in), the starter gentleman (older Caucasian) is very intimidating and belittling. You check in 15 mins before your tee time and still get scolded and lectured for being “late”. I’m very nervous now and hesitant to even go back for tee time as a beginner golfer, I’m not here to get lectured and belittled. I just want to enjoy the sport and grow to get better. I just very much feel rushed and makes the whole experience unenjoyable. The greens are in great shape so that’s a plus. Also the driving range is secluded and shades, which us a great bonus.

Absolute worst experience I had at a golf course. My buddy and I showed up at the starters booth 10 minutes before our tee time. Very busy morning for the both of us and priorities came up last second. When we asked the starter for our cart, you would have thought that he had seen aliens for the first time. The diva threw a fit and gave us a lecture about showing up early. He made us skip hole 1 for no reason (the group we got paired up with was on the tee box). Luckily, Superman starter #2 escorted us to hole 2 after he lectured us about how he doesn’t have sympathy for late golfers? It’s a g…

This was a fun course, it's the first course that I paid to play in NOVA so I can't speak to it's value. It cost us 80 each for a foursome (cart included) to play at 1030 on a Saturday. Overall I enjoyed it, a good mix of long drives and light iron work. Some water hazards and sand traps keep things interesting although it's not a difficult course. Although I think Hole 15 should be a 5 par (but we just may be bad). Most importantly, they have some of the best hot dogs I've ever had at a golf course. Looking forward to playing here again many times
