In summary

Herndon Centennial Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens and fairways, offering a good value for the area. Many find the course layout enjoyable, with a mix of challenging and forgiving elements, and the staff is generally considered friendly and helpful. However, some visitors express concerns about the condition of the tee boxes, ongoing renovations, and the course's relatively short length, which can affect the overall play experience. Additionally, there are occasional issues with slow pace of play and parking.

Herndon is a great muni, the groundskeepers and greenskeepers are the best in the business, especially considering the amount this course gets played and their budgets. The issue with this course is that it is fairly easy and can manipulate your handicap for the better. The tips are essentially the mens tees at any other golf course and there are maybe 3 challenging holes, and that might be generous. If you are a beginner to intermediate, or play a couple times a year, highly recommend. But if you are a weekend warrior who likes to go and play more challenging courses, and bet with your budd…

Course is always in great shape, and for the price it is tough to beat. Tee box renovation is finally done, and so it was nice to play the course as it normally plays. Walked 18 for $35 and did not see a single person on the course; can't beat that! I think the aeration scared a lot of people away, but the greens were still running true and fast. Although I think the $80 is a bit steep to pay for a peak tee time with a cart, this course is still a favorite of mine.

I am not a golf person, so my review is a general one. From what I see, this is a medium size golf course. There are many good things about it, If you have free time during weekdays, or you are a retired person, you can go there in the middle of the day, then all the course field is yours! Their prices are good, even they sell golf accessories and hats, shirts, etc at a reasonable price ( comparing Sterling and Reston with them) They have a nice small restaurant, with acceptable quality and price. The manager in charge also was very nice and polite and helpful. Negative points : The parking sp…

Updated review - course is in horrible shape - stay away for at least a month. Played on the last day of July 2022 and found that the course has taken a turn for the worse. Rains combined with what looked like people carting everywhere has ruined this course. This combined with gnats ( because of the sogginess ) made playing a terrible experience. I sincerely hope that course management starts enforcing cart path only on many if not all holes so that the golf course can heal. I am adding a set of new photos to reflect the current course condition. I will stay away from this course for at least…

Great course but I was surprised that they are fixing the tees for 3 or 4 holes during peak time. This should have been done during off season….

Enjoyed the course structure/layout. They are redoing the tee boxes and this will really elevate things soon. Good $ value

Herndon is a great course for the price and it has a lot of different holes with water and beautiful scenery. A lot of golfers tend to walk the course, and if you drive it is just as nice. While I am a fairly new golfer, I like the course and have played many times. The Staff is helpful and friendly. When my Dad and I played it was about $65 and that included a cart. Not expensive but not cheap. You can try one of the golf apps to get better pricing. Their breakfast sandwiches are really good as well!! Review provided by Jennifer V-E Johnson

I live in Herndon and have been golfing here for 6 years. The course is short but the greens are tough, very undulated. The fairways and greens are in good shape, some of the tee boxes are uneven and not well directed. Club house staff is helpful, but less than friendly. The restaurant has tasty fast food. Its a good value for NOVA.

My first time there. I had no idea the restaurant is owned by a Filipino. I noticed the menu was Filipino dishes, what a pleasant surprise! The course was fun, and the staff was friendly, helpful and professional. It was rainy and cold but we had a great time anyway. I'd play it again.

Beautiful course with great fairways and greens! The tee boxes are hurting a bit, and many are not level, but otherwise it's a fun experience with an interesting layout that gives some challenge from the back tees but is also very friendly from the forward tees. It's not a long course, and definitely more open on the tee shots than other tree-lined routes. Even though the greens were pretty smooth and quick, there always seemed to be less break than what people in our group thought they saw, and that was an unusual feeling.

LOVE this course now!!! It’s in fantastic shape👍 I hesitate to say it because I don’t want it to get trampled under foot by a lot of play. And people, PLEASE repair your divots in the fairways AND the greens!!! It takes 20 seconds max. We play Spark League every Monday and really look forward to it. Staff is great too, Mary at Egg Karne is the BEST👍. :Michael Ferguson

Absolutely preposterous that they still charge 62$ and above for rounds here when every tee box is under repair and most of the holes are easy birdies and it’s not a legit course especially with what they charge, save your money go somewhere else if you want to play legitimate golf. With that being said I believe they should either close the course until it’s fully fixed or, drop prices by at least half because the course is half maintained and on some tee boxes your hitting off mats. 0/10 will never come back very disappointed in a course I was looking forward to.
