In summary

Sterling Golf and Swim Club is appreciated for its well-maintained 18-hole par 3 course, which is particularly suitable for beginners and intermediate players. The friendly community atmosphere and affordable pricing are frequently highlighted, along with the club's efforts to maintain safety and cleanliness during the pandemic. However, some visitors have experienced issues with customer service and communication regarding course policies and closures, which have led to dissatisfaction.

Showed up for my 830 tee time. Course was empty. No email no call. Drove over an hour to get there. Extremely rude manager and greens keeper showed up to say it was closed due to frost and wouldn’t open til 12. Played here many times in winter/early springs and never had a problem. Will not be back. Take your money and time to Burke Lake if you’re looking for a nice and friendly par 3 course.

Sterling Golf Club is an amazing place to work and to play! An all 18 Hole Par 3 Course beautifully maintained by a caring staff, many volunteers. We appreciate all who have come to visit and play during the pandemic. It has been a trying time for all and we are proud that we have offered a great place for fresh air, exercise and great golf. Member based but open to the public our prices are extremely affordable, as is our cold beer and refreshments served also by Volunteers. We appreciate all who have continued to set a tee time and look forward to many more great golf outings! See you at Ste…

I have been going here for years. On the 18th hole recently, my brother was yelled at by two random golfers to get his (push) cart off the green, which one wheel was on the very edge of the green and was an honest mistake, and not a big one in my opinion. I asked the golfers if they worked there and in a hostile manner they said, “yea, got a question?!”. Then I asked the front desk person as he walked past us if those golfers indeed worked there and he became super hostile immediately. Was very weird and unexpected, to be honest. They also don’t let you use carts unless you’re a member and don…

For a par 3, the maintenance of this course is in really good shape. I much prefer this place over the Virginia golf center par 3 in Clifton. The layout is very friendly for juniors and anyone who is ready to take the next step after being at the driving range. Once done here, I would recommend brambleton golf course as the next step up. Love taking my family here.

Great 18 hole par 3 course for beginners to intermediate. The course is well maintained and offers the right level of challenge to constantly improve your game. Super friendly/helpful management and staff. The 19th hole is a welcoming and casual atmosphere for guests and regulars alike.

What a fun par 3 course! Great place to tune up the irons and wedges. Conditions were much better than expected for a par 3 course and the winter. The place seems to have a great community. Met many members and everyone was super nice and welcoming. Wish it was a little cheaper considering it’s a par 3 but will for sure be back soon.

Hello all! We wanted to send a huge shout out to all who have visited and played our course since the pandemic. It has been a very trying time for all, but we are extremely happy that we have been able to serve all. THANK YOU for your kindness and understanding as we have navigated in the best way possible to accommodate all. Our members are the backbone of our golf club but welcome new faces daily. It is a pleasure to introduce new folks to our amazing club! During this time we ask, please be patient and understand that: *We are limited on golf carts. With that being said, we are a beautifull…

Upon walking into the pro shop, I greeted a gentleman who I found out was the manager on duty and I got no response. I proceeded to ask the young lady at the register where the chipping and hunting Green was, and she replied, so I ventured out to the chipping green set up to do a little practice. The apparent manager came out and did not introduce himself, but asked me if he could help me And I told him I was here to park and Chip and he said no it’s for members only I explained that I saw it was Public aloud and he said no it’s a private club. You’re welcome to golf but you can’t practice and…

We came to this course to play a friendly 2v2 scramble. Entered into the clubhouse to pay and the lady working immediately starts lecturing us about taking care of the course and not damaging it. Strange. Proceeded to pay full price and started warming up on the practice green, only to be confronted by the lady from the clubhouse who came out aggressively, yelling, “I’m watching you.” When we asked what the issue was, she told us we couldn’t play because one of our players didn’t have his own golf bag. We explained calmly that we were playing a scramble, he’s a beginner, and we were planning t…

A nice little par3-only course. A good place when you only have 2.5 hours for a round of 18-holes walking game.
