In summary

Amherst Country Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging greens, and friendly staff. The layout offers a good mix of holes and amenities like a snack bar and drink options enhance the experience. However, many visitors express frustration with the slow pace of play and scheduling issues, often citing overcrowded tee times and ineffective course management as areas needing improvement.

Excellent green fairways, wide open , good for all levels. Overcast yesterday, rain waiting until we got to the 13th. Staff friendly. Good tequila sunrises and breakfast sandwiches to start off our day.

Course was in great shape. Greens are well kept, fast and challenging in May. Pace of play was miserable, however and we left after 9 though we paid for 18. Not the courses fault, but an active ranger could be helpful. Would play again if in the area.

This place sucks and is completely overpriced. Took us an entire Hour to play 1 hole and they have tee times every 4 minutes which is ridiculous. We called the pro shop after 1 hole and the guy told us “Yeah you will still get some good golf in and wasn’t guaranteeing us 18 holes which we payed for. Pace of play is atrocious they should have tee times every 10 minutes. Will never be back.

The course is in good shape for the most part. Some tee boxes could be better. There is a problem with the pace of play. Tee times should not be 8 minutes apart. Course manager do you realize that 8 minutes per hole would mean that the pace of play for 18 holes needs to be 2 hours 24 minutes? We had to wait 15 minutes after our starting time with an 8:56 tee time on a Sunday. There were 4 groups on the par 3 third hole. The course is very playable so it is the tee times causing the back ups.

Nice little course. Tough greens that make a very low slope questionable. It definately plays harder than the card. Love the soda machine out in the middle.

Really enjoyed playing this course. There was an interesting stretch of par 5 par 3 back to back. Unique character with cart paths over bridges and around brook bend. Debatebale tee box placements. They have a grod snack bar with local brews. Only disappointment... perhaps bad timing for me they ran out of TP in both bathrooms stalls ......opppss! DOUBLE BOGGIE. Will definitely go back. ENJOY

Course was in good shape. We teed off at 9:04, we finished 12:58. Starter was very friendly so was girl in the grill room and Anna on the cart. Could a tee box or two use a little work? Sure but I would say it was in pretty good shape and the greens rolled well. Tom

First off, the people have always been cool at Amherst. It’s one of its saving graces. Course is in decent shape. Really bummed with the pace today. I’ve had long rounds at this place a number of times, and I keep tricking myself into thinking it will change. Paid for 18, but after 9 holes and 2 hrs and 50 minutes, I was questioning if I was going to make the turn. Got to 10, and we were the 4th group on the hole. Instead of figuring out their tee times and pace of play, they just want the almighty dollar. The reason the back was so slammed, even though multiple groups were only playing 9, was…

I had a fitting with Dom Nguyen at Amherst Country Club for new irons. The experience was FANTASTIC , far superior to the experiences I’ve had at Club Champion, PGA Superstore or Golf and Ski Warehouse. Dom took time to ask about my game and my goals. He used technology to determine the best shafts to match my swing characteristics and tempo. He compared the resulting numbers on the launch monitor and observed ball flight to my current gamers. He had a methodical approach that allowed us to explore two or three heads and 5-6 shafts matching my swing numbers. He made adjustments to lie angle…

Went to celebrate the nice Sunday with my family member on the greens, however, the golf course starter (his name is Pete) quickly ruined that nice Sunday for us. We paid for an 18 hole course and only got through 9 holes because of how ineffective their operations were. On the first course, we were hurried up by Pete who even swore at us after asking him some questions. Despite his rudeness and him trying to blame to inefficiency of the course on the customer, we enjoyed the greens once we wear away from that man. In all honesty, it’s people like Pete that keep those who want to learn and dev…

The starter was absolutely awful to us. He was hounding us the entire time in the entry area, being unresponsive to our questions, and even shouting at us while we were on the green. We’re new to golf and the club so we did make some rookie mistakes, but people like that kill any desire one might have to learn the sport. After having paid more than $120 to rent out everything and hit the holes, we were excited to learn how to play and were entitled to the course as much as anyone else, but that guy’s attitude really put a damper on things.
