What People Say

In summary

ASU Karsten Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained grounds, challenging Pete Dye design, and friendly, helpful staff. The course offers a mix of interesting holes with a good pace of play, and the clubhouse and amenities are generally well-received. However, some visitors mention noise from nearby construction and flight paths, as well as occasional issues with sand trap conditions and the absence of a drink cart on weekdays.

Currently airating the greens but other than that the course is excellent condition staff is amazing, and I can't wait to go back again. There was no drink cart but I played on a Friday they may pull them out on the weekend, but i suggest you call if its important to you. Course is hilly so don't drift to the left or right of fairway, and pace of play is on point. Enjoy.

Course is well kept, prices are decent but the rolling hills are extremely overdone.

We liked the course and it was in great shape. This is the ASU course and it is closing after this year. The high wires and construction were distracting during the round. The staff was helpful and friendly. The price was steep for me. Market dictates this. Greens were firm and fast but fair. Give them a try this year.

This is a 4.5 star rating for me. Great golf course at a fair price. It was in good condition and the staff was very friendly. A really good mixture of par 4 holes that make the course quite interesting. Good practice area. Nice clubhouse and restaurant as well.

Golfed here with my buddy for the first time today. We had a great experience, although I'm pretty biased as we were very lucky and my buddy won the "golfer of the day" promotion so his green fees were free and we got some balls and a 2 for 1 food voucher. Even if we didn't with that I would have said we had a great time. The course was in great condition, the service was excellent, and the course is very good value. Will come again.

The golf course is classic Pete Dye with lots of small and deep bunkers and riveted fairways. The greens are smooth and consistent and the risk reward on this course is great. The setting of the course is also really cool because you are in an Urban area playing golf. You also can't beat the summer rates for the quality of course this is. I would highly recommend it.

I played there today for the first time. The course has a nice layout. And is very challenging, if you miss the fairway. The buckers are not soft sand, but that seems to be the norm for Phoenix area golf courses, at least in my price range. For me the biggest let down was not the golf course, but the noise. It is under the sky harbour flight path, and their is a power generating station very close that run turbines that are as loud as jet engines. I was told that that are not always on. But they were today. If I play there again I will bring ear plugs just to be on the safe side.

The course was in fairly good shape but there were a few greens with some serious patch work - guessing those greens had some fungus issues. The cart girl was around often enough during our round but when we finished at 2pm we found out that the grill was closed for the day - drinks but no food.

I'm at about 3.5* so we'll round up. Not an elite course, but very fun and provides both scoring opportunities and challenging holes. Greens have always been in pretty good condition when I've played here as well.
