In summary

Ken McDonald Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, friendly staff, and excellent amenities, including a lit driving range and practice areas. The course offers good value, especially during summer, and provides a pleasant setting for golf. However, some visitors have reported issues with slow pace of play and lingering debris from fallen trees, which can affect the overall experience.

Little more expensive than other public ones around. But great golf none the less. They have kids clinics and some fast greens. What else do ya need?

First, as of Jan2026, the course is in good shape. The fairways were green and the tee boxes were solid. The greens were smooth. There was a big storm in Oct2025 that caused the course to be closed because there was some damage and about 160+ trees were uprooted. There's no visible damage on the course, but many of the cut down trees are still in the rough areas. However, this is not a challenging course compared with those built in the last 30 years. Many of the fairways were flat, straight and had little to no hazards. There's a little water on the course that comes into play for about 6-7 h…

I wouldn’t recommend this course based on the price. You can definitely find equivalent prices nearby with better pace of play and course conditions. This course is a decent course, but with the abysmal pace of play and tree debris everywhere, it’s not worth the $82 round. Fallen trees on nearly every hole, apparently since before Thanksgiving (it’s past Christmas now), slow pace of play (waited every hole), and no Marshalls. For an $82 round, you’d expect better. I used to come here regularly until the price has increased by almost 50% in the past year with no improvements to the course.

Was a decent course to play, but they really need to clean up all the downed trees. It has been 2.5 months since the a micro-burst took out a good portion of their trees, and the trees are all still down creating hazards that swallow your balls. I will try this course again in a few more months once they can clean things up.

Our go-to course! We usually play here twice a month and always have a great experience. The staff is wonderful—when we had a family emergency and had to leave after just the second hole, they were so accommodating and made sure we could come back out the following weekend. Huge shoutout to Marty for the excellent service! Definitely one of the best spots around for value and a great bang for your buck.

I live close to the course, but away from the holes. So if you're near my backyard you need to practice some more. Just wanted to recommend lessons to whoever it is that drove by our house the other day to pick up their stray ball. You taught my 2 year old the four letter "F word" (and it's not fore) that's now become her new favorite word. Right in time for the holidays. So thanks for that 😅

Excellent course. The best golf ever. Alot of area to practice before. This is an Arizona course that is not desert.

Course is in stellar condition for a public course. Parking is a bit of a walk, but other than that we enjoy coming here from time to time making the rotation on my golf course rounds.

The course was in good shape. We were the 2nd group off and took 3:45 to get through 18. The one 3-some in front of us was a little slow and we could have finished in 3 hours if we were the first group off but still not bad. It rained the day before and the greens were slow but were in good shape. Bunkers had water in them from the rain but not much you can do about that. Fairways were in decent shape for summer and never had to hit out of dirt from the fairway.

Great course. With a huge driving range that is lit until in the evening so you can practice late. Nice putting green and great chipping area. Great value. $10 for a large bucket is a great deal.

Great place to play. We were in town for spring training and were able to book a tee time online. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
