Avondale Golf Club

Had a wonderful couple of days at Avondale Golf Club, both on the nice 18-hole course & practice facilities, and with the lunch at the clubhouse. The head club pro Dan Boguslaw, was personable and extremely pleasant to deal with, and the next day the club pro Jim Schreiber was also very helpful. I particularly appreciated the well-kept practice facilities, from the driving range, putting green, and chipping green, to the practice sand trap and the meditation room that is guaranteed to knock 10 strokes off your round. This is a beautiful, private golf course, in Palm Desert California.

Arrived at 11:45 for a 12:30 tee time, was told that our time was pushed back to allow more members to go out in front of us but pace of play is usually 3 hours and 45 minutes. Finally teed off at 12:55, finished 4 hours and 10 minutes later. Maybe they shouldn't be putting any tee times out for public play. Course was in good shape.

Always a pleasure to get to spend time here. The service is always top notch and you are always treated with gratitude and great respect by community and staff. The food at the club is tasty and priced well. Enjoy the 'desert pour' when having a cocktail after a game.

Excellent fairways and the greens are fast. Sand traps need new sand but if you're a sand player there is about one inch of loose sand on top enabling pretty tight shots to the pin.

Avondale is the most visitor friendly club in the desert! You will be assured friendly, very competent staff, great food, and a wonderful course to play. Avondale is one of the very few desert courses that allow you to walk the course, and because it is relatively flat, it is a great way to play golf. Leigh Coleman, the head pro is a great teacher, and her staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Getting to play a great course with fast play on Golf Now at a reasonable price is a huge bonus!

We enjoyed our round of golf very much today. I would love to play it again with a better knowledge of the course. Very friendly staff. Makes you want to come back

Peaceful place to live.

Club house needs some update. Bar should have more TV's and add draft beers. Bring some fun happy hours.
