Balmoral Woods Country Club receives praise for its picturesque and challenging layout, with well-maintained fairways and greens, making it a worthwhile destination for many golfers. The staff and amenities are generally appreciated, with some highlighting positive experiences at events hosted there. However, there are recurring criticisms regarding the condition of the cart paths, occasional slow pace of play, and inconsistent customer service, which some visitors have found disappointing.

I played here today the course is in great shape. The greens were well maintained. The rough as expected here was tough to get out of so you need to stay in the fairway if possiable. I do recommed you play this course at least once.they do have some long par fours and some tough par threes.

Greens need to be cut and they are soft and spongy. This used to be a hidden gem. I hope they cut the greens and use more sand to top dress. It's grass then mud underneath. Layout is nice and challenging. Clubhouse is decent but taps don't work at the bar. Give it a try if you are in the area.

Worse course I ever played needs lots of work. Terrible Rangers with bad attitudes The golf carts are totally outdated and bad for the environment. The layout is bad with 90 degree dog legs. Save your money and go somewhere else that's way nicer And I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone..

Absolutely awful condition. Green look like they have potholes. Rough was so long couldn’t find my golf ball. Worst course I’ve been to in a long time. I remember when it used to be one of the nicest around.

The greens (except the 10th) were in good shape. Tee boxes are very poor, lots of dirt and weeds. Sad to see the fairways burnt out and it was not even July. Cart paths also need a little attention. A nice course and layout, just needs a little more attention.

Beautiful course with 4 or 5 signature, picturesque holes. Course was in great condition. Had a great time - would definitely recommend. Only minor critique is that the cart paths have seen better days. Overall had a great experience.

Course was maybe average at best. The layout was strange, winding dog legs and super steep hills that didn’t really flow well but looked cool. On one hole, the landscapers would sit there and take videos of you while you were swinging. The rough was very rough, the kind of grass that’s intertwined and makes your ball disappear in a second, better hit the fairway here. At the halfway house, I was told I got a polish sausage. I don’t know if that could be considered a polish sausage, was bad. All in all though, the price ain’t bad. We paid $55 for the round on a Friday morning.

Good Course, Worth the drive.. Weekday rates of $44 is a good deal with a cart, $34 for seniors is really good. Greens were challenging, not a lot of flat or straight putts out there, decent green speeds and consistent. Very nice views with large, old trees. Some nice houses on the property. Two or three of the holes had a Northern Michigan feel with the elevation changes and tall trees that allowed you to see the houses. Maintenance staff was out filling divots and working, showing they care. Conditions were very nice and considering our lack of rain in the last 2-3 weeks it was good to see.…

I showed up slightly early for my tee time and at most places the staff accommodates you, but the woman who was in the pro shop tells me I can’t play until 10 am and no one is allowed on the course when I clearly saw a man on the course near the hole one green playing at 915 am. So she was clearly lying to me about the course rules and as I was leaving to go wait in my truck she rudely tells me I need to not bring my clubs inside again, but to leave them outside. I went to my truck and promptly cancelled my reservation losing out on my money for the round, which I’d rather do than patronize a…

Endured a 5 hour round on a Thursday morning and inept rangers were doing nothing about pace of play. Greens super slow and bumpy and overall course conditions were poor. Hadn't played here for several years and won't be back, sad to see what a once great course has become.
