In summary

Belmont Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and accommodating staff, making it a popular choice for golfers of all skill levels. The course offers a unique 12-hole setup with additional practice facilities, contributing to its appeal as a versatile and historic golfing destination. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional dissatisfaction with course conditions and management, particularly regarding the availability of carts and the behavior of course marshals.

We drove from Boston to play Royal New Kent, and came here on Wednesday night to play the 6 hole belle course. It was awesome - we just walked up and got to play for $15 each. Then, we heard about the unfortunate conditions at RNK, so we came back here Thursday morning to play the 12 hole course here. The course was in excellent condition and so much fun!

I played here for the first time with a friend. I'm a newbie to golf and this was the perfect course. It's definitely challenging for your short game and if you can master techniques on this course , I think your game will be on par! Well maintained.

Very nice golf course about 5 miles from the University of Richmond campus. Can play 12 or 18 holes. Has a driving range, carts and a small pro shop/check in desk with drinks (alcohol too) and golf balls for sale. Course is well cared for...

Really enjoyed my round at Belmont. This course is one of the best public courses in the Richmond area and is full of history. The 1949 PGA championship was hosted here and remains the only course in Virginia to have hosted a major championship. The course itself is relatively difficult and is among the toughest layouts I’ve ever played despite its diminutive stature as a par 66 for 18 holes. This course is a must play and is a good test for golfers of all skill levels.

Came down from Massachusetts for a baseball tournament. Poured the night before so games got canceled for Saturday. Stumbled upon Belmont for a fantastic 12 hole round. Terrific shape. Nice people and perfect for beginners.

This golf course is set up for all levels of play. For kids, 1st Tee has professional instructors to teach you the fundamentals of the game. ie: etiquette, respect, and how to enjoy this game. The 18-hole course was shortened to 12 about 5 years ago. Now, instead of 5 hour rounds, ur done in 3. Plus, there is Little Belle, which is a 6 hole, par 3 course. A huge putting green, a driving range, and a chipping area. So folks. Enjoy a slice of Belmont or spend all day working on your game. The staff is fantastic and helpful. Go play and support our local gem here in Lakeside.

We have made multiple visits here over the years on our tours and love it every time. A FUN and challenging design that will test every type of shot you know and every club in your bag. The always welcoming staff and reasonable rates make Belmont Golf Course a great find for a Golf Fun Day!

Great public course. Only 12 holes but it has a six hole par three, walking course, that you can play to make 18. The public is bad about fixing their divots on the greens or raking their traps but the course does the best they can to keep it up.

This is an old classic golf course in the Richmond area. Has the distinction of holding the US Open Championship when Bobby Jones playing back in 1946 I believe. I played there today and I was really surprised at how good of condition the fairways and greens and tee boxes for that matter we're in. Nice wide open layout that is very novice friendly. Henrico county is the current owner but I believe it's going to be transitioning to a private company I certainly hope that they do not let the course go downhill. Worth every penny if you get an opportunity come out. Update: as you probably know He…

Just played 18 with my son, the two stars are for the fairways and the 18th green. As for all the other greens, my grandmother's shag pile carpet had a better/smoother roll. The bunkers had no sand, there was no refreshment cart, the refreshment stand on the course was closed. The course had a very run down/tired appearance. There were signs saying save our course which may meen it is on the verge of closure. I played here a lot in the nineties/early 2000's. I will not be playing here again anytime soon. Very sad, as I was looking forward to showing my son what a lovely course it was. I've att…

DO NOT PLAY HERE!!! Seriously, if you want to wait 20-30 minutes each hole, this is the place for you. Otherwise, this course absolutely sucks. Played this course on 11/23 and have never been more frustrated on a golf course. You’re much much much better off at the other surrounding local courses. I would never recommend this course to anyone. You’re much better off spending your money elsewhere. What a waste of money.
