In summary

The Crossings Golf Club is appreciated for its scenic layout, friendly staff, and convenient location. Many visitors note improvements in course conditions, particularly the greens, although some areas like bunkers and fairways still require attention. While some find the course enjoyable and well-maintained, others feel the pricing does not always reflect the current state of the grounds, with issues such as hard-packed fairways and under-maintained bunkers being common points of critique.

If you haven’t played the crossings this year, it’s definitely worth it. I was so disappointed with how bad the course got starting about 6 years ago, but couldn’t have been happier to see the course bouncing back when I visited today. Greens are running true and filled out, fairways, tee boxes, and rough are mostly filled in. The only thing that still needs some TLC are the bunkers, but you can tell they are putting a ton of work back into the course and it’s paying off. If you liked the course 10 years ago, you’ll like it again. It’s def worth revisiting! I played my round in 3 hours and rea…

Used to be more of a premiere course back in the day, but maybe with owner changes it went down to almost a joke. Thereis a least new management now and slowly they are making improvements. I played once last year and the greens were terrible. Lots of just dirt and scruff throughout, but I just played this past week and most are alot better. You can tell they have been working on them, I was highly surprised how better they were. Really the only true downfall of the course are their traps. Most are just mud pits or saturated with weeds. To be honest any time I hit in one I just picked the ball…

Overall good experience, food and beer are relatively cheap. For the prices of golf around the Richmond area, you would expect a bit more upkeep on the grounds, even if it is early in the spring, the prices should then reflect that. Cherry Blossoms are beautiful if you catch the course in the right season. Average golf, in peak course condition I can imagine play is immaculate, however, that has not been the case in my experience.

After reading some terrible reviews, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a beautiful day and the course was very quiet. The grass was Green and mostly in good shape. The greens were fuzzy and slow but consistent.

It’s a shame that this course has gotten this bad. We only played the back nine today. We were told that there were bunkers under repair. That was just a lie. All of the bunkers except for one had grass growing throughout them. They are in the same shape that they were a year ago. The greens were in terrible shape. One of them was so damaged toward the back that it couldn’t be played through. I don’t know how they think they can justify charging $44 for nine holes when the course is in such bad shape. I won’t be returning. 6/19/24- The bunkers were almost 100% better. Yes I had to hit from a…

So me and my dad came from Durham NC to watch the Richmond Nascar Trucks Race and it was a super fun race. We decided to play golf here cause it’s less than like 0.2 miles from our house and it was a really fun course. It kinda reminded me of Pinehurst and it was a good course. Short but challenging. It was $150 but not bad. The Greens were kinda messed up but not in the places I putted. I shot a 82 which wasn’t bad knowing I’m a 74-80 golfer. Solid 5/5 stars

Enjoyable, quiet Tuesday afternoon. Staff is friendly. Beer in the clubhouse is cold. Had to play through a couple of running sprinklers - felt nice on a hot day.

Update: This course just cant seem to get it together and the Ramen in the bunker pic pretty much describes the whole golf course. Trash. Its a damn shame because it is a great location and layout. But surprisingly, it has gotten worse not better, and the starting point was low to begin with! Spend your money else where! Officially the worse course in the metro area. (Yes, Glenwood is better)

Not one rake on the entire course for 18 holes. These were two of the better looking bunkers. Some of them were almost all grass. This place used to be good but I guess they lost their groundskeepers or something.

I thought about giving them 2 stars since they are usually in better condition than this but I have give them 1 star. The condition of the course, greens mostly, this year is horrible. This is a picture of the 10th green from Sunday 8/12 in the afternoon. This is what you get for a $60.00 green fee!? Won't be playing or recommending that anyone play here anytime soon!

6/6/24 Just played The Crossings golf course with a group of 12 Retired Military Veterans. The normal rate before 3pm is $54. Seniors rate was $45. I believe this course is absolutely the worst golf course in the RVA area. Tee boxes and fairways are weed and grass mix. Fairways are hard packed with bare dirt spots throughout. You sometimes have to roll your ball 3-4 feet to find grass to hit off of. All bunkers are hard packed and don’t have much more than 1/4 inch of sand. They should just fill them in with dirt and sod or grow grass from seed if they are not going to put proper amounts of sa…

Played in the am on 10/11. I was a single following foursomes and finished 18 holes in 4 hours. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in very good to excellent condition. This is a nice layout and very walkable. Bunkers although groomed aren’t soft sand but dirt w/o rakes. Staff is friendly and for seniors a rate of $43.00 is a very good deal.
