The new owners have absolutely transformed the place. I was out for a round of golf yesterday and mentioned it was my 40th birthday. Even though they didn’t have a cart person on duty, they went above and beyond — offering to bring drinks directly to whatever hole we were on if we called. That’s the kind of thoughtful, family‑style customer service you don’t see everywhere. After the round, we headed upstairs for a bite, and the meal was great. Even the previous owners were there enjoying dinner and showing their support, which says a lot about the community and the direction this place is he…

Went to the restaurant today. Service was good, but something was different. The wasn't up to the usual standard, and the kitchen staff seemed to be put out by making one of our meals. Had the cheese burger and fries. The cheese burger was ok but not an $11.00 burger, the fries were an extra $4 and then $3 for gravy. Why not just have a platter for one price? The other two meals were breakfast items. Eggs were ok but the sausages were cool and the toast was cold. The toast must have say for a while because the margarine was not at all melted. Anyway, other than the service, it was a little d…

We had our annual NUT/NAG (Nephews Uncles, Nieces Aunt Gathering) UPDATE. 10/08/2024. Another exceptional day of golf at Black Bear. We teed off right at 10 AM as scheduled. We took just over 2 hours. Not bad considering the course seemed busy. The course was in nice shape and we all managed to finish the 9 holes leaving ZERO remnants of our poor golf skills. All 9 of us stayed for lunch which was very good. The lunch was as per usual VERY GOOD! The food was fresh and everything was top notch. Tournament golf game at Black Bear this year 06/08/2022. We started off with breakfast and it was ver…

I've only stopped there for rib night on Thursdays, but the food and the staff are both fantastic. Love the bear theme.

What a great course! Only 9 holes but challenging even for the low handicap golfers. Staff are maybe the best of any of the golf courses In the LDB area. They understand customer service and appreciate your business. The food is fantastic. Try the nachos, try the burgers, try it all. This place GETS IT!! Well done Black Bear GC!!!!

Always a great time golfing here. We were 4 adults and 5 teenagers. Everyone had fun, if we were slow we let others pass. The lady in the pro shop was fantastic. We will back again for sure.

I decided to have lunch at the black bear golf course restaurant and it was a decision I would not regret. The food was delicious and my waitress was the kindest young lady, Cameron. She was very personable and attentive, she made the whole meal experience wonderful.

Last evening, Thursday, May 25, 2023, we arrived at Black Bear Golf Club restaurant to enjoy dinner with our neighbours. 3 of 4 ordered rib special. We had waited 45 minutes for our meals when the waitress told us they had run out of ribs. Black Bear burgers were ordered instead, with add ons of fries and coleslaw for an additional $4. When plates arrived we were told there was no coleslaw. There was no compensation offered for lack of coleslaw. There was no adjustment on our bill either. Table was offered a piece of pie to make up for shortage of ribs. We won’t be returning any time soon. So…

Course was in terrible shape. Tee boxes / greens are horrendous. Grounds keeper was extremely rude / arrogant, unprofessional, and for how he up keeps the course maintained, with his attitude, I think this establishment would be far better off without him. Carts girls and servers were very nice, but cannot get passed the arrogant grounds keeper / tractor boy. Will not be back.
