In summary

Blackthorn Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, diverse and challenging layout, and friendly staff, making it a popular choice for golfers in the South Bend area. The course's natural beauty and overall condition are highlighted as standout features. However, some visitors express frustration with the prevalence of advertisements on the golf carts and around the course, which they find distracting and excessive.

Met the kids there for golf halfway between our locations of GR MI and Chicago IL. The afternoon rate was worth the drive. All of us enjoyed the course and would have no issues playing it daily. Watch out for poison ivy if venturing off the rough.

Played Blackthorn today and I must say for November the course is in awesome shape. One of the best courses around! Staff is amazing which is not surprising at all with the GM they have leading the team. It was awesome that they also have signs posted at the check in counter warning that they were blowing out the system. Warnings arw always nice although it was never noticed! Didn’t once affect our round! Well done Blackthorn Staff! Wonderful November Day!!!!

Course design and routing: 9/10 Conditioning: 9/10 Pace of play - 4:10 on a Saturday morning: 10/10 Staff friendliness: 10/10 Natural beauty of the property: 10/10 Annoyance of ads EVERYWHERE: 1/10 I am 5% impressed with the business acumen of the course to generate ad revenue from nearly everywhere - the cart screens, some of the carts themselves, inside the hole on the cup liners, on the scorecard, and even on large billboards behind holes 9 and 18… but it’s 95% annoying and tactless. Raise prices slightly and keep nature and golf front and center. You’re ruining an otherwise 5-star experie…

Golfed here with some friends and family and it was a really nice golf course. There's some pretty decent scenery and there are some pretty challenging holes. Overall, it's a pretty nice golf course and if you enjoy golfing and are in the area around South Bend, I would definitely recommend you give this one a chance.

Ben and the entire staff have been exceptional over the years. The layout is diverse and fun with fair but challenging points. My home course for the past 6 years. Always good views and good vibes. ⛳️

Love this course. Love the layout. Tons of fun holes. You can score well here. Conditions were great. Green speed nice and moderate. One of my favorite tracks around South Bend. Played it now like 4 times and a great experience everytime.

Well kept course, poor management. Does not respond to requests for lessons nor gives warnings for winterizing sprinklers during play. Was a poor experience to play 18 getting hit with water in November on every tee box and every green after an hour and a half frost delay without them calling to let me know. Out of the south bend courses there’s plenty around that I will and would recommended over this solely due to how it’s ran.

Solid course. Would give it 5 stars but for the price Michigan lakes is basically the same price without putting ads in the golf cart. Honestly the Ads were so annoying that I doubt I'll be back. There's an ad that blocks the side of the screen telling you how far out to the hole you are. Then random 30 second ads that interrupt your music and takes over the screen, so if you're wondering how far out you are and you don't have a range finder...too bad you gotta wait 30 seconds after paying 70 a person. It's obnoxious. It would honestly be better without the screens, because then you don't kno…

8.5 minute tee time spacing? Expecting people to play 18 in 2.5 hours? No wonder you have to wait on every hole

Great track and test. Like it better than neighbor Notre Dame course. Lots of regulars here. Small restaurant and bar. Very friendly staff. Will be back

Great layout but for the money the traps need to be in better shape
