In summary

Blue Hills Golf Course is highly praised for its exceptional course condition, well-maintained greens, and scenic layout, making it a favorite among both locals and visitors to the Roanoke area. The staff is generally regarded as friendly and professional, and the course offers a range of amenities, including a well-stocked pro shop and a restaurant with popular food options. However, some visitors have reported dissatisfaction with certain staff interactions and course policies, and there are occasional issues with the golf carts and accessibility for those with limited mobility.

Came into town to visit family and decided to play this course. Very very happy that I did so. The course was in really really great shape the putting greens the driving range the clubhouse customer service was fantastic. Most of the holes are very golfer friendly and very enjoyable and the greens were absolutely immaculate like a sponge and just beautifully maintained. I plan to come play every time we visit family in Roanoke and this is a must for those of you who are in from out of town give this golf course a chance and I think you will be very happy

Blue Hills is one of the best publicly accessible golf courses in the Roanoke area. The course is always in amazing condition and the staff are very welcoming and professional. I’ve always enjoyed playing here and consider this course to be my favorite public course in the area.

First off the course is great, greens are always beautiful honestly idk how they keep them up so well. My son had lessons with John (Golf Pro) and he was excellent very comfortable situation. The Staff other than one or two employees are great men and women. Wild life always in abundance. Deer turkey Ground hogs squirrels rabbits Baby coyote stumbled upon us on hole 10 pretty awesome experience and to top it all off in the video I posted Someone’s pet bird landed at my feet today on hole 2 and let me pick him up. He played until hole 6 with us before flying away to the pond. Great experience h…

This golf course is, hands down, the nicest public course you're going to play in the Roanoke Valley and it's better-priced than most of the surrounding courses! The driving range has multiple tee boxes so you're never hitting from a dirt box and if the grass boxes are closed the mats they make you hit from aren't the type that you have to scrape off of your clubs later. They have 2 putting greens that are in great shape and they are indicative of the greens on the course as well whereas most courses have nice putting greens but their course greens aren't nearly as good. They have course range…

Had a great experience at Blue Hills. Had a tee time with 3 others at 9:06am, but was on a 10-15 minute delay for frost. Still had a great time and beautiful views. Course was in great shape with great greens. Didn’t try the grill but the BBQ smelt great. Beer was ice cold.

We were visiting the Roanoke area and wanted to play a round of golf. So glad we picked Blue Hills. Course was fun to play, greens were in awesome condition and rolled great. It was nice to play in early November with the beautiful fall foliage.

Played here July 2025 Tee Boxes, fairways and greens are all decent. Course layout is good, lots of tee boxes so you can play from the proper distances. Clubhouse is decent, pro shop guys were good, the Manager there is awesome, treated us and everyone else very well.

The course itself is one of the best in the Roanoke area. The 3 star review reflects on the clubhouse staff. I arrive without a tee time to play and while the course has some other players, they are not overly busy. I go into pay saying that I wanted to play as a single so I can work on a few things to prepare for a tournament at the end of September and not hold up the rest of the group. The clubhouse attendant says he can put me in with the group of 3. I reinstate that I want to play as a single and was met with "Thats not possible." I asked why and was met with " If you want to play as a s…

The course itself is wonderful, but unfortunately the experience is ruined by impatient, rude Marshalls who have no issues harassing and being generally rude toward anyone they decide isn’t playing up to their liking. Certainly won’t be coming back anytime soon.

The Course is in the best condition of all the public golf courses in Roanoke. They have been upgrading everything from new smooth asphalt cart paths to GPS on the carts that tell you everything you need to know and listen to your favorite radio station at the same time. You can even check out the local up to date weather. The Restaurant food and staff are incredible. You've got to try the Pro's grilled smoked meat specials when available, 5 star flavor! The pro shop has everything any golfer would need or want from rental clubs to the latest gear available and the counter employees are not on…

Hit medium bucket of balls. Nice day sun was shining. Beautiful morning to hit a bucket of balls. Finding tees at the range this morning. Top Racer is really good, especially when you figure out how to use it. Update 10/4/24 using the driving range again. Prefer nature grass to the mats, but I guess they're letting the grass dry out from all the rain. The Topracer ball tracer has been spotty last few times. Picking up some of the balls hit but missing more.

This course is a nice surprise and a good value. Some challenging holes but you won’t get discouraged due to its open layout. Grip and rip is fine for many holes since the under brush is well trimmed. Greens were well maintained with predictable speeds. Start of Fall so I had some challenge with leaves. Pro shop representative was a good face for the course and was a clear communicator about course expectations and rules. I’ll definitely come back when we are in the area again. Sorry picts for this review.
