In summary

Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, scenic layout, and friendly staff. The course offers a mix of open and challenging holes, with the back nine noted for its scenic beauty and difficulty. While many appreciate the overall experience and amenities, some criticisms include occasional overcrowding, pricing concerns, and isolated issues with course maintenance.

First time playing here and really enjoyed it. Front 9 is very open and not a lot of trouble to find, but still some nice holes. Back 9 was a whole different story! Very scenic and tight! Course is short; only 6,315 from the tips, bit it's a brute of a par 71. Greens were rolling very smooth. Will definitely be back.

Not from the area, so was a first experience for me at Brown Deer. Mid October, the fairways, greens, and tee boxes were in absolutely phenomenal condition for the time of year. The course is nice and open for the most part, BUT there's plenty of water to end up in, making this a beautiful yet somewhat challenging course. If you're one of those power hitters who plays from the gold or blue tees, this course should be great for you and challenging. Can't forget to mention the super friendly staff who made us feel more than welcome to the course! Will definitely be back next time in Iowa. Also t…

Played this past weekend, course was in good shape overall. People need to learn how to fix ball marks. Other than that no complaints and it happens everywhere. The staff was very friendly and always there when you needed a cold drink. Thanks for the hospitality.

Outstanding golf course maintained by the city of Coralville. All bent grass with a great layout, great clubhouse/pro shop, and the golf course is well maintained

Has a nice large lodge, and ample parking. The golf course is large with a tunnel going under the road that divides it. It has a pretty little Creek running through it as well. It has a very large hill which is great for sledding in the winter.

Great golf course but often crowded and pricey. Not sure why the pro shop doesn't partner with the restaurant? Gift certificates are not accepted.

Had a golf outing on 10/28/2024. Everyone had a great time on the course. The carts are top notch and course was maintained perfectly. The only reason I'm writing a review is because as we started on hole one we heard a yelling match between a manager and what looked to be a young employee. The kid walked off the job and as he doing so the "manager" is chewing out this kid. Yelling at a KID saying he wont ever amount to anything and is worthless. This is not how you act like an adult especially a manager in charge of individuals. Keep in mind its the end of October so no one will have a job in…

Friendly staff. Bruce gave my group complimentary lessons. Made all the difference. The snack area has the world’s thinnest and most tasty French fries. More like French fried potato slices. Try them! The golf course is well kept and 9 hole was plenty for 3 for the afternoon.

Great experience and affordable golf. Greens were fantastic! $60 for 18 and a cart! If you play from the white tees, there are drivable par 4s. I would recommend playing at least the blue tees. Great staff, beer cart, and food! Highly recommend. One of the best golf courses in the Coralville area.
