In summary

Browns Mill Golf Course is often praised for its beautiful natural landscape, straightforward layout, and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice among golfers in the Atlanta area. Many appreciate the friendly staff and the course's well-maintained conditions, though some note the greens could benefit from additional maintenance. However, recurring criticisms include inconsistent customer service, slow pace of play, and limited amenities, such as food and beverage options.

Aeration alert! Played Brown's Mills today and the course hasn't healed from the recent Aeration. The staff was super friendly and professional. If you go in the afternoon, be prepared to wait for a cart. It was very busy and we had to wait on many holes. The back 9 is prettier than the front 9. The rough is rough! The prices were reasonable. A couple jumped in front of us on the back 9. There were no course marshalls during our round. Played the course in 4 hours with 2 beginner golfers. There was a starter. I would visit again when the course has healed.

There are three factors why Brown’s Mill is a hidden gem. First, the beautiful views from the #1 and #18 tee boxes to green, coupled with a handful of holes that share the view. Kind of like the nine holes Pebble Beach provides for an ocean view. The natural landscape that takes care of having to have what many private clubs need. The majority of private clubs are located in subdivisions and for a comparable aesthetic look, they require manpower and money to accomplish what Browns Mill has achieved naturally. No need for cobblestone, waterfalls, and restrooms that cost more than the aforementi…

Horrible experience. I understand pace of play will be slow. We were able to finish 5 holes this Saturday before it started pouring. When we pulled back up to the clubhouse where it was pouring rain and somebody was screaming at us through the window. We parked the carts right next to the clubhouse next to all of the other carts. We were not refunded even though we only finished 5 holes and it was pouring rain because we had “bad customer service” we were the customers. They didn’t refund us and cussed us out. Terrible customer service and lied and stole money from us.

I play here regularly and just recently played when it started to rain during the round. The clubhouse DID NOT give me a rain check even though I only completed 9 holes and there was active lightning in the area… They claim it was raining before the round started but it was not. I wish I would’ve taken a picture for proof had I know I needed it… I will next time, ridiculous. Bottom line, if you expect to get a rain check from this course, don’t bother. Worst course management I’ve ever encountered.

Nice course with a few rough edges, many attributed to the city COVID precautions. The course itself is very good and fun to play with a variety of holes. Greens and tee boxes are great. Cart paths on the other hand are very rough to the point of needing an off road golf cart. Support facilities are all shut down. No pro shop, refreshments or bathroom (except on the 4 hole) or walk ups. You can get practice balls for the driving range. At your tee time you pick up a cart and go. Price at around $40 is good

We had two tee times on a Saturday, and because of a tournament, they decided to close off the range, and would not let us tee off on time as scheduled. Staff was not friendly and rude. Course conditions are a 3/10 at best. Save your money and golf somewhere else.

Course was in decent condition, had 2 of my players cancel due to personal reasons and the course still charged me for the full round while filling those spots with other paying players. Staff was barely responsive and did nothing to support. Buyer beware!

Good afternoon. I am filing a formal complaint about the staff at Brown Mill Golf Course. Over the past year, I have been invited to play at least three times and have consistently experienced poor customer service from both the desk staff and the team handling the carts outside. The course itself is in decent condition and is likely among the better municipal courses I’ve played. I respectfully request that the onsite team’s professionalism be addressed, as their behavior—rudeness, arguing, and use of profanity toward customers—has been unacceptable. A review of public feedback suggests this…

Very well kept public course. Very laid back and unpretentious.

This is the City of Atlanta course that I play when I want a serious round of golf. Straightforward layout, good conditions, and friendly staff although there aren’t many of them. The people that play here are serious about golf, which helps pace of play. I walk, so I appreciate that they keep the water coolers full. The course is next to the South River, so it’s a little soggy after a heavy rain. Seems like the driving range (only one on the Forepass plan) is closed half the time, because they can’t run the picker.

Honestly don’t know if people recognize how great of a layout Browns Mill has. Wonderful land, highly playable, fun municipal golf. The greens are in absolutely horrific conditions, probably a bit from aeration that isn’t healing well. Conditions elsewhere are excellent for the price point. If the city could pump some funding into the green maintenance and tee boxes, this could easily be a $70-80 track that I would happily pay for. Dwarfs Chastain in terms of design.

I had a fun time playing golf then. This course was really good. Everything was perfect to me except my score. Haha Anyway If there is somebody thinking about which golf course is good to play, I would recommend here!
