Butternut Farm Golf Club is praised for its challenging and well-maintained course, featuring tight, tree-lined fairways that require strategic play. The staff is noted for their friendliness and professionalism, enhancing the overall experience. While the course conditions are generally good, some players mention that certain tee boxes are uneven and there are occasional bare patches on the greens. A solid option with very easy to obtain tee times. This course is very tight with tree lines fairways but if you have the will power to keep the driver in the bag you can score well despite the encapsulated forest. There are many short par 4's that arent drivable but in the middle 350 yard range so you can take a shorter club off the tee and be in great shape. It was a bit buggy when I was out this year but its early in the season. Overall a good experience and affordable. Walkability score 8/10.

First time playing Butternut Farm. Pace of play was outstanding! Even though a wicked storm rolled through the night before conditions were mostly great. The layout is tight and hitting the fairway isn't easy but the design of the course is fun and challenging. Only the 10th hole was ridiculously difficult. The greens were in especially excellent shape! The speed of the greens was consistent throughout the entire 18 holes. My friend shot a 75!! That was fun to watch! Overall Butternut Farm is recommended if you are looking for a fun challenging round of golf. Definitely can recommend it.

There's not enough words to describe how amazing Butternut is! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I had my wedding this past weekend (4/26/25). Everything went flawlessly! That's no accident! It's because of their AMAZING staff, beautiful facility, and their inclusive vendors!! If you are looking for a venue that makes your wedding planning easy, Butternut is the place for you! On top of all of that, the food was DELICIOUS!! Guests told us that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding! I would absolutely recommend Butternut to anyone who is looking for a wedding venue! Tru…

Have played this course several times, and it’s truly special. The trees squeeze the fairway tight and can be punishing. The hole design is good and often requires strategic shots. The course condition is good overall, except many of the tee boxes are beat up and aren’t level, and some of the greens have bare patches in the back. Very friendly staff all around and everything is very reasonably priced. Overall an exceptional course in the area.

It was my first time to play on the golf course. The golf course is beautiful and the fairway is very narrow. I was very happy to hit an eagle on the ninth hole (blue T tee shot). I will still want to come here next time.

Had a blast playing here. Course is challenging and makes you reconsider how you approach the game. Some super tight tee shots so club selection is important. Loved the drivable green on number 8. Condition was pretty good considering the deluge of rain the day before. Clubhouse staff was super friendly and shared some pointers pre-round. And the drive out to Stow was pleasant as well! Can’t wait to come back!

One of my favorite tracks 💯 Tight, not too long of a course. Tree lined, moderately priced. If you play smart golf and strategically place your ball, youll have a really fun round 😀. Always in great shape, friendly staff. The last round i played here, I had 1 guy throw his club and almost hit me (wasnt trying to hit me)...on HOLE #2 🤣 I pulled a matrix move and luckily he didnt hit me. I've never seen that in the 25+ years ive played golf 🤣🤣 The guy was in his 60s, acted like a child lmaoooo. But, the course is great!! 😅😅⛳️🏌️‍♂️

I've been playing here for quite a while and it's always a good time. If you're driving it straight or nearly. If you're spraying it off the tee this place will eat you alive. Most of the drives are very narrow, or a well placed tree makes it look very narrow. This can be mitigated by choosing the right tee or going with less than driver. Like I said, if you aren't driving the ball it will be bad enough. Throwing in another 10-30 yards per hole isn't going to help. Some fairways are open and receptive, but those are few and far between. You're mostly threading the needle with your tee shots a…

We recently celebrated our wedding at Butternut and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible experience. From the very first visit, we were impressed by the beauty of the space, the professionalism of the staff, and the fact that everything we would need was right at our finger tips! The team at Butternut went above and beyond to make our day perfect. They were responsive, organized, and genuinely cared about making our vision come to life. The venue itself is absolutely stunning—our guests are still talking about how perfect the set up was and how much fun they had. A special thank you…

such a good and challenging course! Most fairways are narrow so ball placement is key! The grounds crew keeps the course in great shape and the greens are always pristine! You'll pay a few bucks more here then next door at Stow Acres but I think this is a better course!

What a beautiful course - the only problem besides the narrow fairways was that Natalie kept getting distracted by the scenery and taking pictures. Staff was friendly and the electric carts were a nice touch. This is a popular spot based on the limited tee times available- and our group of four was sandwiched between two other groups of four for a 6:30am tee time but everyone was friendly, nobody held up the pace of play and the vibes were good!
