In summary

Cane Garden Country Club is appreciated for its pleasant setting and accommodating service, particularly for large groups. The menu offers a variety of dishes, with some patrons enjoying the food and attentive service. However, there are consistent concerns about slow service, inconsistent food quality, and issues with meal preparation and presentation.

Ribeye steak was pretty good. Mine was medium rare and the other was medium. I included the cut so you can see it. I was thinner than I prefer, but was cooked right and the meat was very tender. For the price, I can’t complain. I would go back and have it again. The desert was rich, very good. Our waitress was nice, on top of things, and did a great job. It’s not the nicest restaurant in The Villages, but it is certainly a place worth stopping by for a bite to eat. Their specials are the draw, as they are pretty aggressively priced. We had two steak dinners, 2 cocktails, and a desert we shar…

This place is really nice looking. The interior is pleasant and it has a nice bar in the center of the restaurant. Lots of nice dining outside that's under roof. There are also some umbrellas although they are rather small for the table size for the ones that are not under roof. They're also are heaters in the ceiling for cooler weather. It's right on the golf course so the views are nice. Ceiling fans above to help keep you cool. However, it was rather odd to sit five people at a square four-person table, so two of us had to share one side. Even though we were there earlier than the table n…

Have gone here several times with large golf group. They always accommodate us and the service is always great! Food always comes out together with no mistakes. Big variety on menu and food is really good.

Very gross! Had a pretty bad experience here and it all starts with the time it took to get the food. It was not particularly busy when we went, there weren't many people in the area where we were sitting. I finished 2 of my glasses before we got our meal. However this is besides the point of the review. The food was pretty bad, my wife did not like hers and it was the shrimp bowl and it was super soaked and everything was swimming in sauce and I would equate it to a frozen meal as far as the smell and looks as I didn't taste hers. I ordered the ribeye steak and it was cooked right but it did…

Arrived with a part of 6 for a family dinner. My wife got the chicken parmigiana and I ordered the smothered chicken. Both dishes were virtually inedible. Chicken was cool to the touch, mine was bone dry and hers was flavorless and drowned in watery marinara. I’m not a complainer and have very reasonable standards but the food wasn’t even close to acceptable for a place of this stature. Would never come back or recommend.

Service was very slow, (took over 30 minutes to get waters) food was cold, no manager ever came to talk to us about it. One dinner had a rotten baked potato that never got replaced. Very disappointing.

Seated & ordered breakfast by 10;15AM this morning, a birthday celebration that turned into a disaster. The food still hadn’t arrived by 11:45 so we left. So did a lot of people. Server didn’t acknowledge the delay unless we asked and were told it would be right out. She didn’t even top off our coffee.

Worst Fish Fry ever more breading than fish. Charged $16.99 instead of menu price of $15.99. Happy Hour as reported on Villager Eats Facebook not honored. Will not be back.

Update as of 11/18/23: I’m changing review to lower star rating from review below. Went on Saturday at 5:30pm. Tried to seat us in booth right by reception and pizza oven. Seat was ripped and overall non appealing. So we were seated further back. Service very very slow. Waited over 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table. Another server stepped in to help our assigned server. She was so pleasant. Lobster bisque worse I’ve ever had. Grainy and tasted like hot milk. My entree was chef salad which is what I got on prior visit. Very different experience with this dish on this visit. Lettuce wa…

Horrible golf course. They should shut the place down. The golf pro and/or manager is a fool who needs to be fired immediately. Three separate occasions my wife was singled out over her outfit while women in identical clothing stood nearby without a word said to them. Today I took the afternoon off to play golf with my wife. We were removed from the course as we were about to tee off. Humiliating. We know the dress code. Her straps exceed the 2 inch minimum. We measured, and we should have never had to. This is not dress code enforcement. This is targeted harassment. Other women on the course…
