In summary

Heron Golf Course is appreciated for its beautiful setting, mature trees, and well-maintained greens, offering a challenging layout that appeals to both intermediate and advanced players. The staff is frequently described as friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall experience. However, some players find the course quite difficult, particularly for beginners, and there are occasional concerns about course conditions, such as thin grass in fairways and challenging pin placements.

This was a challenging course. Very beautiful with mature trees and plenty of hazards to get into.

Pelican is wet and not completely refurbished. Trees were very nicely trimmed and the brush was cut to a decent height. I believe it is a very tough course and not for beginners. The personnel seem kind. I am impressed with the great personalities in the starter shacks throughout The Villages.

1st time playing here. We liked the layout, for the most part greens are in good shape. I do wish that the score card had yardage on it.

Heron is a good level 3 course that provides a challenge. Nice greens. Nice layout. It makes a great warm up for Pelican which is one of the most challenging executive courses in the villages. Pelican requires length and precision. Every hole has hazards that can increase your score quickly.

This is an executive golf course but it is quite difficult. Most of the holes are situated in and around a lot of natural vegetation, water and preserves. For a beginner, this presents a definite challenge in just getting the ball to the green. However, the views are beautiful making playing this course an experience to remember!

I played Pelican today 2/19/2020. The course won 😬😤. I found the conditions to be overall pretty good. Condition of the greens ranged from awesome to below average. This may be the toughest executive course in the Villages.

Fun challenging course. Course was in really good shape... Greens were fast on the day I played. Some hole placements were difficult. Overall a really good couse.
