In summary

Canoe Club Golf Course has seen significant improvements in course condition and maintenance since the city of Winnipeg took over management, with many visitors appreciating the enhanced greens and fairways. The staff, particularly in the pro shop, are frequently commended for their helpfulness and friendliness. However, some golfers have experienced issues with ongoing maintenance activities, such as sprinklers and hoses on the greens, and a few have reported dissatisfaction with certain aspects of customer service and course management.

let's just start off by saying that canoe club golf course has drastically improved over this season. the greens have been taking care of and the overall quality of the course is more than satisfactory. who I assume to be the manager came up to me at the end of my round to ask some questions and he had told me about all of the work that was done over the season. as of posting this in September of 2025, this golf course has come a long way from what it used to be just a season ago. I'm rooting for all the staff at this course to continue to work had and turn this course into a city favourite!

The club is in a state of transition, recently the city of Winnipeg has taken it back over. Many upgrades and maintenance has been noticed. Greens are better today than all of last year. Ryan in the pro shop has been a steady anchor, always pleasant and helpful. Looking forward to see the future improvements.

Played here the other day for the first time since the city took over, the difference was night and day, SOOOO much better than it used to be. Fairways and greens were in way better shape. They were still redoing a few of the bunkers but they told us a head of time to just take a free drop if we played into any of the unfinished ones. It was super cheap too, I walked 9 and rented a push cart, my round was $32..... I would definitely play here again given how close it is to me and how affordable it is

I had a large group play there Sept 7, 2025. Jun and Ryan were so helpful and accommodating. The course was in pretty good shape, considering it was the city’s first year taking care of it. Our group had a great time! Can’t wait to play it again!!

This is a really poorly managed course, I've never seen a course in such poor condition that was open to the public. Aside from the severely damaged greens, tee boxes and dry fairways we had to play through greens that were actively being watered with hoses strewn in front of the greens blocking play. The hoses and sprinklers were arranged in a way that caused water to pool all over the greens making them entirely unplayable. Anyone that's golfed knows the courses are watered in the early hours of the morning and at the end of the day. Despite this we were charged full price and course staff…

I have been golfing on city courses for years. The Canoe Club was in deplorable condition Kudos to the City for stepping up, taking it over and putting a lot of effort into it It looks better already Maintenance guys are doing a great job😎⛳️🏌️‍♂️

The new groundskeepers are doing an amazing job this year. The course is FAR better than it has been in the last decade. They continue work daily, the greens are coming around and are actually green, the bunkers are getting redone and the front staff are very polite and helpful. I look forward to playing a round here once the work has been completed

The condition of this course is drastically improving. The greens and the fairways are looking better every time I've been there month to month. Nice little course that I can drop by and walk on just to get 9 holes in after work. Aside from the traffic noise, this course is coming along with the new management.

The course has been taken over by the city. There are several changes taking place, new pro shop, new carts, and new wahrooms. It will take a bit longer for the course to improve, but be patient,it's coming Still working on sand traps greens and tee boxes ⁹ Will be closed on Oct 27 for the season

This is such a beautiful hole and my favourite at the canoe club golf course. It follows the river on the right side, and sadly I lost my first ball because I didn't think it was that close. The course is so much fun, I went the other morning when we took this shot. Pretty challenging course for only being nine holes. One of the holes on the other side (I can't remember which one) was very long. Being an intermediate player I would recommend this course to anyone trying out golf but are not keen on those small par 3 courses. Great location (actually splits with the highway) and fun to play.

Golfed this course yesterday. Wonderful layout for an average golfer but disappointing. Fairways are dry and need to be watered, greens 4 of 9 were ok. T boxes... disgusting. A pile of hard dirt. I can see sandtraps are being worked on but not one done. Has potential to be a great course. Really the price is too high for the shape it's in. Hopefully they get it into better shape this year. But on plus side the guy in the Clubhouse was really nice.

The staff are always really nice, Ken especially. Huge props to that guy. The greens are in terrible condition. Not the staffs fault! ... where are the green keepers at?
