In summary

Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club is appreciated by some for its friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and relaxed atmosphere, making it suitable for beginners or those seeking a casual round of golf. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance, noting issues with the greens, fairways, and overall course condition. While the layout has potential, the current state of the course and amenities has led to dissatisfaction among more experienced golfers.

Drove 2.5 hours to play this course. Fairways and tee boxed have crab grass as the main grass on course. Greens are in horrible shape. Left course after just 1 hole. Worse course I jabe ever played. If I could give a 0 I would.

Course really is as bad as you can imagine. Not a speck of grass on the greens. Tee boxes are literally sand boxes. Fairway has no grass just sand interspersed with weeds. You 'd have to try hard to make a golf course be in this terrible condition. Someone wants to get this closed. By the way, we golfed on April 7. Not burned out. Not much rain. It really is a dead course. NO MATTER WHAT THE COST IS, DON"T PLAY THIS COURSE.

WOW. Yes, the Pro Shop guy was friendly. However, the starter was rude and just a miserable person. We can deal with that. What was appalling was paying $65 for this ridiculously unkept course. The tee boxes were terrible, some holes we couldn't differentiate fairway from rough and the greens were a joke. We've played a LOT of courses and this was by far the worst we've ever seen. The cart paths are in horrible shape and almost undriveable. Want to charge $25 for 18 holes when your course is like this? Perfect! $65?!?!?! No. We felt so violated. Never ever will we return and we will make sure…

I was excited to come here and spend my Tuesday here, however The rate was great online however we arrived at the course and it is horrible. The grass is worse than your backyard. There is no grass to play on full of dandelions. The greens are too thick. The tea boxes are Nonexistent just a bunch of weeds you cannot play a real round of golf here This has really ruined my Tuesday. I would’ve paid an extra $20 and played another local North Myrtle Beach course had a whole lot better experience. this makes Azalea Sands look like a luxury golf course this course may have been great and it’s time…

Can't give it a minus 1. Embarassing to call this a golf course. It is a cow pasture. Weeds, no sand, grass in sand traps, no mowing and absolutely NO greens in 18 holes. Do not waste your money here. It is a shame too. Nice club house, nice lay out..............but that is where it all ends. Check out this GREEN..............

I love this course as a beginning golfer. It is not crowded. It is easy to tee off at almost any time in the morning. It is a little rough, but it is certainly worth the lower cost. The people working here are wonderful. The carts are great and it's fun to look for the alligator in one of the ponds. If you expect a $200 experience, then go to a $200 course! This course is great for average golfers or older golfers, like me!

Staff were very kind and open about the course quality. Warned us about the high grass level in the fairway and the course being wet. However, we weren’t prepared for how unkempt the course was. Any ball hit in the fairway would need a rescue team to find, the tee boxes were indistinguishable from the rest of the course and only 3 of the greens were playable. There was tree debris blocking the cart path that was wilted. We paid for 18, didn’t bother to go past 9. We drove past several other golf courses that looked much better, which made this trip a little harder to stomach.

I'm sure that this course use to be good in it's hay day, but now I would spend the extra money to go somewhere else. I played 9 holes in the morning and I'll start off by saying I should of gone somewhere else or spent the money on beer. The lay out is not the best, but considering a neighborhood is built around it seems to hinder the tranquil quality of golf. Between the couples arguing about whatever or the person trimming their hedges it is not a good get away, but to be fair not the courses fault. The condition of the tee boxes, fairways, greens, and bunkers are horrendous. Now I don't…

If you're looking for an expensive championship golf course this isn't it. If you want a relaxing and fun day of golf this is the place. The staff is super nice. Tee times are easy to get. Price is great! The course is challenging with lots of water and sand traps. They are working hard to improve the greens. Aeration and sand. We golf here to work on our swing and to get some exercise.

Came down from cleveland on a golf trip with buddies, had some great golf, but this wasn't it. We all agreed this is the worst course we've ever played. Solid layout and nice carts, but that was about it. Greens looked like sand traps, tee boxes were crab grass, couldn't tell where fairways and rough starter/ended. No warm food in the outdated club house. Direction signs were covered in weeds/overgrowth. I'm sure it was a beautiful course in its hayday, but that is long gone. Feel bad for all the beautiful homes of people who live along the decrepit course. Needs to be shut down for a year or…

Since moving to Carolina Shores, I've played this course numerous times. The greens have improved compared to a yr. Ago. Prob. 3 or 4 bad greens now and on the mend. They do need to be cut shorter. Still too slow. The fairways are fair with a crabgrass texture about 75% and good grass, 30%. Still very playable and mowed frequently. The tees are fair. Need to be cut shorter and some made more level but not a big deal. Sandtraps are in poor condition. On course bathrooms need work. Prices are very reasonable. Food menu is limited but very good. Do have beer, cans and draft also reasonable. This…

Possibly the worst golf course I have ever played. There were actual sand traps ON THE GREENS because of grass deterioration. The fairways were in horrendous condition…. Long grass clippings and crab grass weeds were more bountiful than the actual grass. No merchandise sales at the clubhouse. Couldn’t buy a glove or even golf balls. This course will be sold or closed down within the year. Don’t waste your time or money on it until new ownership can fix it up.
