In summary

Thistle Golf Club is widely praised for its immaculate course conditions, scenic layout, and top-notch amenities, including a well-equipped clubhouse and attentive staff. Golfers appreciate the challenging design of the three nine-hole courses and the excellent practice facilities. While some mention the course's higher price point and occasional discrepancies in course bookings, the overall experience is considered exceptional, making it a must-visit for enthusiasts in the Myrtle Beach area.

For all the negative reviews about the price, I found this place to be beautifully maintained when compared to the cost of around 100. Greens were immaculate, every part of the course was perfectly maintained and manicured and I found no issues with pace of play for being a single on a Friday afternoon- obviously a bit busy but still managed to play in 3 and a half hours. Staff were super friendly and helpful and beverage cart was a plus for it being a hot day. Course is tough and unforgiving but had a wonderful time. I will definitely return!

Stunning golf course and club....a great all round experience only outdone over 5 different courses by Tidewater but it came a very very close second. Highly recommend and I would happily play again, if only to get the 4 balls back I lost from wayward shots 🤣

Thistle is a first rate experience. Its more than just a round of golf. Every person was friendly, helpful and professional. The course is immaculate, especially for it being fall golf. The greens were near perfect. Practice facilities are wonderful. The only bad thing was that I didnt finish 18 soon enough for me to pay to play the other 9 holes.

Absolutely incredible golf course. Really enjoyed playing both the nines that we played. We didn’t know that McKay was actually closed for Renovation so we played Cameron and Stewart. Really fun layout. I played the blue tees. My dad played the white. The course is set up right in front of you pretty easy to score. If you keep the ball in play. Greens rolled great. They were significantly firmer on Cameron 🦝 Beautiful neighborhood excellent bar and Grill restaurant top-notch service from arrival to departure. This is the place to play if you’re in North Myrtle Beach. Don’t even waste time w t…

We booked the Cameron and Mackay courses and when we got to the starter he tells us we are playing Mackay Stewart . When we said we booked Cameron Mackay the starter says oh you are right but says it's Cameron Stewart and doesn't give a reason for the change. People were playing the Mackay course so I'm not sure why the course is putting people on something other than what they booked. Additionally the green speeds were completely different going from the Cameron to Stewart 9's. Overall I like the course and everything else was handled well I just wish we could have played what we booked.

One of my favorite golfing experiences. Played all 27 holes. Everything from tee boxes to green were immaculate. I loved the revetted bunkers you'll find on Stewart. Lots of water and wildlife await you around the course. Even the carts were a step above. I can't wait to bring my mates back here one day. I hadn't played a links style course before this day, and hitting that first tee shot on Cameron I knew it was going to be a treat. Don't miss out on this one and treat yourself.

One of the best courses I’ve played in the Grand Strand/Calabash area. The staff provides better service than 99% of the courses in the area. From the course entrance, club house design, bathrooms, and etc is spectacular. The attention to detail is impeccable. The course design is amazing. Practice greens, chipping area, and driving range are pristine. I’ve played at over 70 courses and I was blown away. The golf carts are new with rolled leather seats. It’s like riding in a Cadillac. The course is in awesome shape and challenging. Stay out of the bunkers and you’ll have a blast. I will drive…

Terrific golf experience despite the hideous weather conditions. we literally almost had the golf course to ourselves. there was only one other foursome that day and I believe they were from Ireland. we played in some big puddles of rain even though the conditions were great at this course, they couldn't handle the amount of water and that was completely understandable. honestly, other than tidewater none of the courses we played drained properly. that being said, great experience. the staffing was shortened that day because no one was there yet. still catered very well to us in every way. clu…

Great course. Three nines give you something different with each one.

This is a great track. Made up of 3 9 hole courses. The Mackay nine had newer greens which were firmer but slower. Stewart course had very nice fast greens that held the ball on your approach shot. Very scenic golf course. Very well run getting you out onto the course. Practice area was very nice. Had a bar right beside the range. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beverage cart was around frequently. Carts were electric with great GPS on them. Also had nice bathrooms on the course. The bar area and patio are nice to eat and have a drink after the round. Would love to play this again.

This course was well worth the price. Everything about the experience of playing Thistle was great. The bag drop, the friendly staff in the pro-shop, the driving range and putting green were all great. The course was even better. The greens and fairways were all very well kept. I'd definitely pay to play here again when we come back for vacation.

We had a group of 6 couples playing golf on our trip and The Thistle was the highlight of our trip (all 12 players agreed). Fantastic, scenic golf course in great condition. Super facility, all around, with nice staff. One of my favorite golf courses anywhere! Thistle is a must play for any trip to the Grand Strand.
