In summary

Claxbranch Golf Course is frequently praised for its challenging and beautiful Jack Nicklaus design, with diverse holes and scenic surroundings that appeal to golfers of all skill levels. Visitors appreciate the friendly and accommodating staff, as well as the reasonable pricing, which many find to be an excellent value. However, some reviews mention that the course's condition, particularly the greens and bunkers, could use improvement, although efforts by management to maintain and enhance the course are acknowledged.

This course truly is a hidden gem. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Prices are very reasonable, the greens fees are an excellent value. The Jack Nicklaus course design is challenging, but also getable in places. Each hole plays differently. You won't get bored thinking your way around this course. Lots of elevation change, uneven lies, and shots to elevated greens. I hit some long bombs on the fairways that featured a downhill slope. Some other Tennessee golf courses get a lot of fanfare and hoopla, but this could be the best in the state. It's definitely worth a weekend road trip f…

I probably haven't played here in 10yrs and in between the course closed for a while. The layout is still very good but the conditioning could use improvement. Overall it's a good course. The picture is of their beautiful Japanese Maple at the clubhouse entrance!

Course is in bad shape. Greens are rock hard with very little grass. Fairways are in bad shape also with very little grass. Really sad to see.

Fun, enjoyable, humbling, challenging, and well kept are accurate descriptions for this course. The course has thick native grass buffer zones, tight fairways, multiple water hazards, and an abundance of streak ending bunker locations that will force you to play conservatively. It will make you reconsider your club distances if they're not dialed in and you'll be pondering shot placement on several holes to navigate hazards and set up for approaches. You should definitely give this one a try, but be sure to bring an extra sleeve or two of balls.

Unbeatable value for the money. Beautiful design. Can’t believe it’s possible to play a Jack Nicklaus designed course for under $40. But therein lies a problem. With rates this low and light play (nearly had the course to myself today), the once “best public course in TN” is showing some age. The Nicklaus design is still evident in his signature bunkering, but they are not well-kept. One of the greens was in bad shape with a fungus that made it nearly unplayable. Were it not for a recent hay harvest, any ball off the fairway would have been hopelessly lost. This is in no way an indictment of…

New Management is AMAZING. This course is 10/10 , lucious fairways and beautiful greens that play relatively quick, location is beautiful with each hole bringing a different and unique set of challenges. Be sure to bring an extra sleeve or two of balls for sure. Beautiful pro shop stocked with snacks/drinks/beer/accessories and apparel. You just can't beat this place for the price. Driving range and putting greens available for your pre-round warm up. Worth the drive from anywhere in TN.

Beautiful course!! Although this course is challenging, it is must for golfers of all skill levels! The course is well maintained and the scenery is stunning. I was shocked by the amazing rates that this course offers. I was able to play 18 holes for only $35. The cottages are beautifully decorated and offer a homey yet glamorous feel. I would definitely recommend playing and staying at this course!!

Absolutely had a blast playing this course! Tees lush, almost immaculate. Fairways were in superior condition. Bunkers and rough in great condition. Greens roll fast, again, great condition. The scenery was spectacular. The course is beautiful, yet intimidating. Cottages are very clean and comfortable. With no hesitation this is a 5 star review and a must go for all golfers of any skill level.

Absolutely gorgeous course. The greens, tees, and fairways are in excellent shape. The course is challenging but fair. Great price, clean and wonderful staff. Played the course 3 times since they reopened 2 years ago. Every time I'm in the area I make plans to challenge myself on this golf course.

This is an awesome golf course! The guys I play golf with & I drive over an hour from Alabama to play this course on a regular basis. The golf course has a beautiful layout & it is very fun & challenging to play. The course is in excellent shape & we have added Ross Creek Landing to our year round regular play golf courses! The pro shop staff is very nice & helpful. Call & set up a tee time because you won’t regret playing this golf course! After you play the course tell your friends, family, co-workers & neighbors about Ross Creek Landing because word of mouth is the best advertising for a go…

Greens, layout, fairways, and overall design where amazing. Bunkers had no sand though. This an extremely tough course, and if you don’t hit the fairway kiss it goodbye. Other than super nice and would play again.
