In summary

Columbus Park Golf Course is appreciated for its affordability, friendly staff, and beginner-friendly layout with wide fairways and minimal hazards, making it an ideal spot for casual golfers and practice rounds. The course has seen improvements with added amenities like a chipping area and miniature golf, although some visitors note that the greens and drainage could use further attention. While the course generally offers a pleasant experience, a few guests have reported feeling rushed by staff or encountering issues with on-course amenities like water availability.

A west side gem. Management and Chicago Park District invested significant resources and talent to upgrade this course. Numerous trees and flowers have been planted. Fairways have been leveled and drainage improved, a free miniature golf course added, replaced and added blacktop access, added fencing, friendly staff, great price point, raised tee box on 5th hole, clean up landscaping and reed at number 8 water hole, occasional deer and coyote sightings. Enjoy.😊

I play the course once a week. Great course to practice your game. Great Beginners Course. Wide fairways Greens could use a lot of attention. Bunkers are decent. Some tee blocks need quit a bit of attention. Super affordable tee times during the week. Easy course to walk. Super friendly golfers to link up with and enjoy a round with. Really like they put in a chipping area and a practice putting green and miniature golf section all out together.

This course is a bit of a gem. It's a public 9 hole with wide fairways and no water. It's an amazing course to practice on and they have pretty large chipping area but no putting greens. If you have a Player Advantage Card, you can play for $14 on the weekday! As you can expect from a public course at that price, the course conditions aren't the best and the greens are pretty slow. I always walk on and haven't waited more than 15 minutes to tee off.

Love this hidden oasis in the city!Golf course, tennis courts, wide area to walk my dog. Really like the lagoona d the cute hidden water falls! If you're lucky, you can catch high school baseball teams playing there as well. A soccer field and a large building where people have their weddings there!

Amazing public course! Disclaimer this is my home course so I am a little bias. The fair ways are very forgiving and many holes are drivable with not to many hazards. Great beginners course, (says the guy who’s handicap is +18) great price, and great staff. If you are a professional golf club goer I would not recommend, if your a casual golfer, you’re going to love it. Only down fall is there is no cart girl 😕 other than that, hit ‘em straight, porta potty on hole 4, and sink ‘em in the hole!

Personally I enjoy this course a lot. It's an easier course since the fairways are wide, and you don't have challenging rough by any means. The challenge is mostly the greens since some have slight slopes and breaks. Which I prefer over some goofy 45 degree slant green in one direction like some 9-hole courses have. Also the conditions can be hit or miss at times. A little arid during dryer months, slow greens at times, and when it rains a lot some areas will be soaking wet to mini-ponds on the fairways. If there is one true negative is the drainage system still needs work. I digress, but it'…

I’m a kid so I get to play here free, and it never disappoints! I love the water on hole 8 and the difficulty of this course is not to hard for us kids.

I’m a first time golfer, and very insecure. I tend to only do ranges to practice and if I come to a course I come with my boyfriend and father. Every time I have come I have had the ranger come up to my party only to voice there has been complaints on delays. I wouldn’t be offended if they had gone up to every group but they have consistently asked us to either play best ball or simply to tell me, people have complained on delays. Not only that but we always rent carts just to ensure if I do play we go faster. We are also always at the whim of those in front of us. We are happy to wait so folk…

This course was a joy to play at! The course was well maintained, the pace of play felt relaxed, and the range of par 3s to par 5s added a lot of variety to gameplay. The price and location also drew us in, as you get a fun experience for a great cost without having the crowds of downtown courses. Definitely will be back soon!

This is a pretty easy course, nice straight holes and wide fairways. I'm a very average golfer and trying to get better so it suits me. If you're playing scratch or even any handicap in single figures you probably won't become a regular here but might want to use it for a warm up round. I've only played it a couple of times. I've gone in the morning during the week and its generally been fine and not too busy. The course isn't in immaculate condition or anything like that but it's pretty decent and for just under $20 to play 9 holes you can't really beat that. I'm rating 5 stars because its l…
