In summary

Deer Lake Golf Course receives praise for its challenging layout, improving conditions, and affordability, with several visitors noting the greens roll well and the course offers a good value for the price. However, some guests have expressed concerns about maintenance issues, such as poorly kept fairways and facilities, as well as a slow pace of play due to crowded tee times. While the staff is generally regarded as friendly, there have been instances of unprofessional behavior reported.

It's really a nice course, they have been improving over the past few years and it looking nice. Greens roll well rough isn't so high you can't find your ball. It has some tight areas but its open for the most part. Carts are okay, range is long and wide, club house is nice.

I really like the course and fitness center. My only complaint is we like to walk and not use a golf cart, and we have to let so many groups play through that it takes HOURS. We aren't very good yet, but we are trying. I wish the tee times were spaced a tad further apart. I've left twice before I played all 18 holes because it was getting too backed up and it was stressful. I went once when it was drizzling and played the best game of golf in my life. No one else on the course.

Course is in pretty poor shape right now. But the track is pretty good. Some really challenging holes and the pins could be put in some hard spots to hit. For the price this course is a great place to play. Love going under the interstate to play on the back side.

The staff was nice but the course was not. Do not use the bathroom on the course unless you are desperate. The fairway was basically rough in most places because they hadn’t mowed.

Me and my friends (beginner golfers) elected to play 9 holes at this establishment today. Upon arrival it was clear that the course was over booked and every hole was extremely backed up. Due to some members of the party being newer to the game of golf we were playing slightly slower and we allowed 3 parties to pass by us before we made it to the second hole in order to not effect their experience. Shortly after we teed off on the third hole we were approached by a short chubby man claiming to be the head groundskeeper. Without warning he immediately got directly beside us and started yelling…

Played 9/15/2025 but haven't played there for 15 years. Wow the fairways and greens are in great show for having such a drought in the area. Great price. I'll be back

Do not come to this course with pretentious expectations. For the price point, this course was more than fair! It definitely has it's quirks, but every course does

Had probably the worst experience I've ever had at this golf course today. I flew in from Atlanta to have a chance to play a round with my brother. He had called ahead to make sure they had a left handed set of clubs to rent. When we get there, it was the sorriest excuse of a "set" of clubs I've ever seen. The driver looked as if it had been ran over multiple times, there weren't any long irons in the bag at all, only one wedge, and didn't have a putter!!!! They told me they had left handed clubs at another location and would have them brought over but never did. The didn't charge me for club…

Some storm damage was visible, but course was in fair shape. Very limited food options. So either eat beforehand or pack a lunch. Otherwise, you'll have to choke down a lukewarm hotdog and bag of chips on the turn.

Been here many of times usually love the course but very surprised today when I was charged full price to play on freshly aerated and sanded greens. No heads up from the clubhouse about them or nothing. Most courses offer a discount when the greens are sandy with holes all over them, or at the very least a heads up so you can choose to not play them if you don’t want to play on those conditions. Overall disappointment of the day won’t be back for while, plenty of other courses to play that will be up front about the current course conditions or take a little of the price for still being willin…
