In summary

Deer Lakes Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and friendly, professional staff, making it a favored destination in Western Kentucky. The course is noted for its picturesque setting and offers a variety of shot-making opportunities, with several memorable holes. However, some visitors have mentioned issues with overgrown roughs, understocked amenities, and occasional maintenance concerns, suggesting room for improvement in certain areas.

Played here for the first time today, and it was disappointing. I lost several balls in the roughs (in bounds) because they were too overgrown, when I would normally find them easily in the roughs on other courses. Almost every green was 25% bare spots. Cart path on hole 15 was covered with overgrown weeds rendering it unusable. What used to be bunkers are now large holes covered with grass. Pro shop was barely stocked. Brakes barely worked on the cart I used from them. I heard this was once one of the nicest courses in the area, but it's sad to see how poor of a condition it's in now. I guess…

Nice little hidden Gem. Some areas could use work but overall good experience. Fun layout with some nice shot selection & risk reward holes. If in the area I'd suggest giving it a go.

We played 18 holes out there today. The greens were very well cared for, not fast though. I liked the course and my son and I will be back. The long par 5 on the back side is a bit much. It requires two back to back quality shots just to get within range of the green.

Course was very well maintained. But upon arrival there was a group of seven teeing off the first hole. After warming up I was urged to go off the back. Not a huge deal but not in the realm of golf rules! Let's just say I birdied every hole!

My husband and I played 18 holes today at Salem KY's Deer Lakes Golf Course Professional staff service is superb! As of today 10-3-18, we were most impressed with condition of greens and fairways--perfectly maintained and most beautiful. This is a course with character. Design gives multiple challenges. The lodge looking clubhouse is most picturesque atop the woodland of pecan, walnut, and cherry trees-to name a few. This is a true 'Golden Nugget' in the Western KY Purchase Area.

Best greens on a public course I've ever played. Decent tee boxes. Fairways were a bit firm with the summer heat. Definitely worth the drive.

It's one of the best courses in the area and is one of the top places to play in Western KY. It's right off hwy 60 in Salem KY and is easily visible from the road. Excellent staff and a great place to play, have a tournament, or corporate outing. They have a nice banquet room that can be booked for weddings or receptions. The greens are in great shape and the layout of the course is challenging for all golfers. Water in play on both sides of the course with multiple signature holes you will remember. Front 9 starts with a short 320ish par 4, then a 145ish par 3, the 3rd hole runs next to hwy 6…

Played in one of the best run 2-man tournament in years. Some the best bent greens in the area even compared to several private clubs played the same week.
