In summary

Deer Run Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, friendly staff, and overall country club feel despite being a public course. Golfers appreciate the challenging yet fair layout, high-quality amenities, and efficient pace of play. However, some visitors feel the pricing is steep for a public course, and a few have experienced issues with slow play and customer service.

Course conditions were very good, nicely maintained. Good shots are rewarded and some danger tempts you on a few holes. Overall the course is not very exciting and there are no “wow this is a nice golf hole” moments. $100 with cart on a Saturday felt a bit steep - certainly would walk if I were to play again.

Private feel for a public course. We'll kept and well managed, no working around leagues here. Nice practice tees have auto ball feed. Carts with the best GPS aides available for distance, terrain and obstacles. Challenging while straight forward. Bar and bar cart serve only top shelf at rail prices. Food is quick at the turn and staff very friendly. Excellent selection of Swag too. Will continue coming back!

Less than a 4.5 hour-long round on a weekend, which is saying a lot nowadays! Course was also in great shape. A fantastic course and a great option to add to your summer repertoire.

Fun and challenging course to play! Worth the price of admission. They do all of the small details really well here! Provide tees, water fill stations at basically every tee box, greens are in amazing shape. Sweet course!

Beautiful day on a great course! This was my first time out to this course and I enjoyed the mix of the holes. Some easy and some challenging water hazards. I was surprised how many homes are pressed in around the course so be careful with a slice! Overall very fun course and I'd come back here.

I golfed here mid June and this was probably the nicest course I have golfed in a long time. Tees, fairways, and greens were all in pristine shape. This course is on the pricier side but worth it. It makes you think a bit at times and challenges you other times!

This course is outstanding and might be the closest you'll get to a Country Club feel at a public course. I truly cannot say enough good things about the staff, facilities, and course. I can't afford to play here often, but it's worth it as a special treat.

Always an amazing time at Deer Run, and the course is already in pristine condition. The staff here pays attention to every detail and always crushes it. Special shoutout to Tom and the bar/cart staff. Can’t wait to come back!

I have played all around the west metro, and this is easily top 3, if not number 1. I’m laughing at some of these bad reviews complaining about price, this is an incredible value. One of the most well kept courses I have seen in Minnesota. Challenging, but not extremely difficult. I’ll be returning frequently. Thank you to the very friendly staff.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday and were very satisfied! Food VERY GOOD and every waiter we've had was super nice and attentive. I would like to give Miranda (not sure how she spells it) a special shoutout for being so sweet and helpful! She sat down at our table to take our order and made us feel at home. It was super busy but she still did a wonderful job!

Always love playing this course. Well price and always one of the top maintained courses in the SW metro. Friendly staff, cool clubhouse, executive carts with GPS and coolers. Club will give you a bag of ice with purchase of drinks! Subscribe for the Friday blogs from Tom, they’re fun reads!

Well maintained but the worst value in Carver County. At most a $65/round (including cart). The course is built into a neighborhood and is a 71. They also send groups off every 11 minutes and it takes way too long to play a short course. If Tom doesn’t know this, he should resign.
