In summary

El Cariso Golf Course offers a scenic layout with views of the mountains and is generally well-maintained, making it a good option for both learning and casual play. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the customer service, particularly regarding the behavior of the course marshal and other staff, which has impacted their overall experience. Additionally, issues such as slow pace of play and worn tee boxes have been noted, suggesting room for improvement in course management and maintenance.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Customer service, non existent. Marshall has no idea what he’s doing. Took my son, his friend and two nephews to teach them how to play on the course. We were on the first hole when the Marshall said we were holding up the course. We teed off around 3:30 and the kids were putting while the group in front of us were still on the second tee box teeing off. He said that we were holding of the group behind which was a single. The whole course was backed up, we waited on every tee box. Marshall was rude and had no idea how to manage the course. How do you expect to…

I have played here several times, but after today's experience, I don't think I will ever return. While the course layout is generally great, the tee boxes are consistently scuffed and poorly maintained. We arrived as a group of six to celebrate a friend moving away. On the first hole, we were told by the front desk that we had to split into two groups of three. That was fair and understandable, so we complied. The front nine went smoothly without any issues. However, things changed on the back nine. The range marshal immediately approached us and caused a scene, yelling at us for setting up…

I’ve played this course several times, but after my most recent visit, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. The layout is good, but the tee boxes are always pretty worn, and the experience this time was disappointing. Our group was out celebrating a friend, and everything was fine on the front nine. But once we got to the back nine, the marshal repeatedly singled us out, raising his voice and criticizing us even though we were following the rules and keeping pace. It made the entire round uncomfortable and honestly took all the fun out of the day. What made it even worse was the lack of consis…

A nice 18 hole course with amazing views of the mountains. I had a solid experience overall with minor gripes. Customer service and check in was great. Got the cart and it was descent, course was not too difficult but it was challenging. The main gripe was lack of signage to tell you what hole you are at or which way was the next hole. They do have a map but you’ll be responsible for getting your self to the next hole. Outside of the no signage, it was still a fun course. Parking was plentiful and the driving range was good. The space between golfers was a little cramped but still a good ran…

Great course in the valley that is well kept up. Good learning course, no par 5's, but still has holes you can pull your driver out and rip it. If you've never played here I suggest you make the trip.

A really nice golf course if you are in the valley. I’m not a great golfer but a friend brought me here and I was able to golf at a learning pace with his help and really enjoy it. The views towards the mountains are wonderful the driving range and overall grounds are well maintained.

The course was in decent shape but pace of play was slow. Greens were slow and bumpy. It's over priced for sure. You can play any of the regulation sized city courses for pretty much the same price and the same or better conditions. We got a half priced deal with cart on Golf Now for 23 bucks. I wouldn't return at the full price. There are some nice views and the mountains give the feel of being out in nature.

Worse course in the valley. Staff are a bunch or wanna be golf pros. The Marshall needs to go back to school cause he clearly doesn’t know golf etiquette or the rules for that matter. We had a 6 man group which we split into 2 teams of 3 playing scratch golf. We kept the pace of play and followed all their rules. Not even after the first tee box the Marshall came and harassed my group saying that we needed to keep the pace of play when we had just teed off, we were on the fairway waiting for the group ahead of us to walk off the green before he hit our balls. The whole time we played out round…

Course is in great shape but terribly overbooked ,price is 55 with a cart on Saturday at 10am which is great except there wasn’t any carts available .The local men’s group tees off at 7 and completely destroyed the tee sheet they were 45 minutes behind schedule and no carts available ON A SATURDAY! Total round took 6 hrs , food was ok at the turn but took 30 minutes to get a hot dog and a coke . Great tract but I will not be returning there’s way more places to play that are managed better in this price range

Course in good shape for an executive Course. Service is horrendous. Doc, the starter is one of the most disrespectful individuals I have ever met in my life. Every "response" comment is a jab at everyone he comes in contact with. I have always tried to respect my elders however, Doc and Ann make it tough. I called to confirm if carts were available as the site would not allow me to do book as a "rider" and Ann would not put me in for a time. She told to me to follow directions on the site in a very rude manner. I understand how it works however, thought I would call to see if the human elemen…

I have never been there before. I didn't even know it existed. Just used the driving range but think we are going back to play on Wednesday. I will give another rating after we play. The course looked green. Should be fun!!!

El Cariso Golf Course in Sylmar is a true hidden gem. The course itself is stunning, with well-kept greens, a great layout, and one of my favorite holes- number 11. The café hits the spot, and the outdoor staff clearly work hard to keep the experience enjoyable. But what’s happening behind the counter is unacceptable, and it’s time it gets called out loud and clear. I’ve now seen multiple reports—and experienced it myself—of outdoor workers being yelled at and humiliated in front of customers by front desk staff. Let that sink in: workers who keep the course running are being publicly disres…
