Sand Canyon Country Club

As a member, I love Sand Canyon. The staff is amazing — from the front desk to the starters, cart barn, restaurant, and the golf pros. The café and driving range are excellent, and the tee boxes continue to improve. With 27 holes, this course has the potential to be the best in the Santa Clarita Valley. One thing I’ve noticed is the sand traps. Some of them are beautiful white sand, while others are more like dirt. The course is challenging which we liked. Really makes you think what you will need to hit drone the tee box , fairways where in pretty good shape and greens were great. It’s a special type of course with beautiful Mountain View’s. I played with a customer from Michigan and he loved it. I live in the OC but if I lived closer I’d be playing here more often. It was a lot of fun.

$120 for this. Mountain course had two greens 3,5 that were like putting on a fairway. Extremely disappointing, will not be back and do not recommend

Always enjoy playing Sand Canyon Country Club. The staff is always courteous, from Ryan behind the desk, Steve the starter and Lilly who handles the carts. Everyone does a great job. The course has some very challenging holes, but they are very playable. It does require that you put together some golf shots, but that's why we play golf, right? There is potential for this to be a nice course but it is just so beat up and narrow it makes it extraordinarily difficult. When we played the greens were so long you couldn’t tell where the fringe stopped and the green started. With all that said, it’s just average. It has 27 holes which makes it easier to get a tee time than the next place so it’s a good option in a crunch but outside of that I’d recommend you try another spot. Also, I understand they did a renovation recently, I’d be interested to know what was renovated as tee box and fairways were in bad shape

Love this course and love the people. This course could be one of the best in southern California! However, golfers that do no repair their divots on the fairways and greens should not be playing golf, period!

Great Staff, easy to book a time, BUT ... Played there twice in the last 3 weeks and for $120 bucks the greens should be in puttable condition. Very bouncy and inconsistent. I go to LA City courses for $60 bucks on the weekend, half the price and put on consistent, smooth, and well kept greens.

The pace of play for early morning tee times is consistently good for the front 9. But the way the course schedules tees time across the three 9-holes course available, always results in a snail's pace on the back 9. The course conditions have gotten better recently but still not commensurate with the green fees; especially considering you can get the same course conditions at LA City courses for $30 less (and more consistent greens) or phenomenal course conditions and consistently fast pace of play in Moorpark or Thousand Oaks for $10 to $30 more. Played yesterday on the Desert and Mountain 9s. The conditions were horrible unfortunately on the Desert course. All the tee boxes were ground under repair, with no grass on huge sections of the course, and cut tree branches piled everywhere. The Mountain 9 was better for the first six holes then conditions fell apart again. These pics are from the Mountain 9, which was the better of the courses.

This course is AMAZING....great price-great condition-friendly staff.....After playing here once or twice a week I've found I've become spoiled......Aug 2025 update..... however is charge of maintenance needs to address the over watering. Course is getting ruined. Won't be playing here anytime soon....

I played Desert/Mountain on 10/05/25. We were originally scheduled to play Valley/Desert, but the staff told us to play Desert/Mountain instead. Since we weren’t familiar with the courses, we assumed they were all similar. Unfortunately, the Mountain course was in terrible condition — the greens were awful and clearly not being maintained. We didn’t see anyone playing on the Mountain course, either ahead of us or behind us, which made us feel like something wasn’t right. The staff should not have placed us on that course, especially when charging a $120 green fee. It honestly felt like a waste…
