In summary

Emerald Lake Golf Club receives praise for its friendly staff, enjoyable course layout, and well-maintained fairways, with many visitors appreciating the overall atmosphere and amenities such as the clubhouse and bar. However, there are recurring criticisms regarding the condition of the greens, with some golfers finding them unplayable due to maintenance issues. Additionally, slow pace of play and communication lapses about course changes are noted as areas needing improvement.

I played here 3/8/2026 and the course was in good shape. I've played here before and never felt compelled to write a review as the greens were previously a bit beat up, but so far this year the greens and fairways were in good condition! Pace of play was great. Price was good for a Sunday ($72). Layout is always fun here.

This is the worst golf course on planet earth!! Every single hole is covered in mud and the greens look like a bomb went off on them. Sand traps look like a waste land and about 80% of the bunkers are waist high in water and I lost about 3 balls because of that. You couldn’t pay me 1000 dollars to come back here again. To add insult to injury the average player here hasn’t touched a golf club in there life so the pace of play is about 30 minutes a hole. Never again!!

I paid $90 to play Emerald Lake and left extremely disappointed. First, the course failed to disclose major setup changes before taking payment. Nothing online or in the pro shop mentioned that every par 3 was being played off mats from roughly 150 yards, and even the signature par 5 over water was moved up short of the water, turning it into an unremarkable ~400-yard hole. Those are material changes to the experience and should be clearly communicated before customers check in. Not disclosing that feels misleading. Second, pace of play was unacceptable. The round took over five hours. Durin…

Always a great/fun course to play! The best part are the people in the pro shop and the bartenders are always fun and smiling!! The greens were a bit tough a few months back but bounced back nicely! I play almost every Sunday here!

Braving a cold and damp day at Emerald Lake, I found the course resilient after recent heavy rainfall. Despite the lingering moisture and low temperatures inhibiting drying, the overall condition of the course stood out, especially considering the time of year. The bent greens, in particular, maintained their true roll, contributing to a satisfying round. The course's layout presented a delightful challenge without veering into excessive difficulty or length. Beyond the greens, the entire course showcased commendable upkeep, with minimal intrusion of weeds and debris. This attention to mainte…

Love Emerald Lake for the golf course and tavern! Staff is friendly and attentive, food is good, and love the ambiance of the patio when there is nice weather. Music bingo nights are my favorite! This is definitely a staple for us.

Unfortunately, course was extremely wet with standing water in places. Was told cart paths, ONLY, after I paid and was given the key to the golf cart. Greens were extremely fast and difficult to read. Got my steps in and my shoes dried in 24 hours

Pretty good golf course. Some of the holes are close to eachother and you can easily hook or slice onto another hole. Overall the course is nice they are filling in some of the bunkers and they have some pretty fun holes to play. I like to play here a lot with my friends.

The staff is friendly and amazing. It’s a hidden gem in our area. The regular menu is great and we always look forward to the specials. Many people think it’s private because of the golf course, but all are welcome!

If you’re looking for an insanely overpriced dog track with destroyed greens and the tee boxes to match, you found the perfect place! So many things wrong with this place, where do I start. Dead spots everywhere, on the greens, fairways, tee boxes. Carts are smaller than any golf cart I’ve ever been on. Can barely fit 2 bags on it. Just an annoying experience from start to finish. The best part is it’s $90 to play it, HA! The fact that this course charges more than $20 a round is highway robbery. If you’re a hack that doesn’t care if you play in a parking lot or a cow pasture, you won’t mind i…

First time here. Was going to play a few years ago but read reviews about the greens so decided to not book. I'll agree with other recent past reviews, the greens, while steadily improving, are for the most part in fairly rough shape. Areas of mud, patched turf and the ball mark damage is absurd. The fact that they are bent grass and they have to nuke them with water to keep them alive in this heat is the biggest issue. Green speeds change on each hole due to the amount of water applied. Some of the greens have a fair amount of disease on them. They would be better suited to shut down for a bi…
