Fred Enke Golf Course

This is not an easy course. Miss just a little on your drives and it's a good chance you won't find your ball. The traps are mostly hardpan covered with a thin layer of sand and pebble sized rocks. It's also quite hilly with several holes with blind landind areas. It's also a visually beatiful course.

Conditions were very good. Cart paths on front nine are dirt. Back nine newer smooth concrete. Greens were consistently slower due to length of cut - not too hard to adjust for, carts were newer and smooth. Got to see a few roadrunners but no other critters. Pace was a little slow 4 hours for 18 holes. Good value muni course!

This course I've played for 50 plus years. Be accurate on certain holes (target control) or find that huge rattlesnake looking in the brush for your ball. Not sure if they have named it yet but he's a granddaddy. Regarding the driving range where I go a lot now: They have many many spots, and they always seem to have good grass to divot off of. They move the markers forward and back once the grass is used up like they should. Perfect for what it is ! To be clear, it's a public course run by the city. It's not The Gallery or Stone Canyon, but it doesn't try to be. It has some very interesting holes designs, good variety and affordable rates. For golf on a budget, you can't beat it !

Nice little desert course. It doesn't feel very little if you walk it, including the back nine. I ended up with 19,000 steps the day I walked it! Get your sneakers on! Was in good shape and marked well.

I really do enjoy playing this course. It is normally in really good shape although sometimes the greens can be unpredictable. Fairways are nice, no "rough" really, just dirt.

Very interesting course with many varied holes...large waste areas off the fairways...it was in good shape and the greens were very fast..one of tucsons best municipal courses I think and we saw 6 roadrunner on the course while playing...cool!!!

Course and grass were both decent. Starter had no idea how to send groups out or follow pace of play. Sent out a group of 4 who had a reservation 45 minutes after mine in front of me and 3 more groups behind me to the first tee at the same time. Miserable day of golf where we were so backed up. I mentioned at the end and was told I should have called and they would have fixed it but there’s nothing more they could do. I won’t be going back there. For the cost of play it made the day unenjoyable.

All these low star reviews are made by people who think they're really important and have zero understanding of how anything really works. The course is in great shape and the staff is awesome. It's a great place to play.

The course is in great condition. Greens are smooth, fast and receptive. Rachel, the “cart lady” very pleasant, friendly, and always has a smile on her face.

Played here the other day and my god has the course fallen off. The first pic is the first cut on hole 13, but almost all of the holes are like this. Ever heard of water or seed? Half the time of you hit your tee shot in the rough yet kicks to the right or left because of how firm it is, so you lose it in the desert. I think the pictures of the greens speak for themselves. No greens keeper?! About half of the greens are like this. Not to mention some of the traps feel like your hitting off concrete.
