In summary

George W Dunne National Golf Club is often praised for its beautiful and challenging layout, well-maintained fairways, and the opportunity to encounter wildlife. The staff is generally regarded as friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. However, many visitors express dissatisfaction with the condition of the bunkers, citing issues such as lack of sand and poor drainage, which detracts from the otherwise enjoyable course. Some also mention slow pace of play and occasional high fees as areas for improvement.

So many huge bunkers which with little rain we had muddy. No sand !!! We didn't try to hit it out. Would hitting out of concrete. Greens were slow. I great layout but the sand trap is why I would not play again

Just finished 18 at GWD National. Beautiful course and well-maintained. Challenging holes, particularly with lots of bunkers around the greens. Fairways are pretty wide open and forgiving. A few holes with water in play. Lots of fun and good value at $49/player with cart. Saw some wildlife too including deer, coyotes, and birds of prey. It’s a long course if playing from the blues or tips. Can’t wait to get back.

It’s November 2nd, 2025, and they are still charging $81 to play this course. Ridiculous. The traps are unplayable and no staff anywhere to be seen. Utterly embarrassed that I hosted some friends to come and play the track. Cook County should be remorseful.

First time for me. What a great track! I think it's like a mini Cog Hill in layout. Huge bunkers everywhere, lots of interesting shaped greens. A challenge but super playable from the Whites.

The layout is awesome but the sand traps are terrible. They are in disrepair. Front desk is excellent, menu is very limited. You guys really need to improve the quality of conditions. I don't like paying a full green fee and searching for a ball in a sand trap with a large puddle. Look at Coyote Run, Old Oak... the sand is great, the greens are consistent.

The course is in great shape this year! They have cut and filled the bunkers as well, which helps a lot, and the drainage issue on 12 has been fixed. Friendly and helpful employees also, keep up the good work 👍

Great course with all types of challenges. A bit pricey / out of the way, but those who make the journey are often rewarded. Also has a range.

This course was in decent shape, 5 hr round, group in front 3riders 1 walking playing from different t boxes, brutal I lost interest after 9 holes. Sandra’s were unplayable, hard as a rock with water in every one in range of a sprinkler. For $53 will never play there again!

The course is in average shape EXCEPT for the sorry excuse they call sand traps. There's no sand in them at all. It's basically concrete. And of course, the rounds take over 6 hours because they don't have any rangers out to make sure people keep a decent pace of play. Paying almost $60 to play this place feels like I was ripped off. Find somewhere else if you want to enjoy the game of golf.

Good layout, not tricked up & well manicured. Greens and bunkers are fantastic. Don't be fooled by the clubhouse, this course is a must play.

Golfer July 5th. 92 degrees and humid. The course was absolutely beautiful. Amazing wildlife running around. Fairways were in fantastic condition.
