In summary

George Young Recreation is highly praised for its beautiful and well-maintained golf course, offering a scenic and challenging layout, and its welcoming and helpful staff. The facility also receives positive feedback for its diverse amenities, including hiking and snowshoe trails, a pool, hot tub, sauna, and a restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. However, some visitors have reported dissatisfaction with service speed at the restaurant and occasional event management issues, such as during the Easter egg hunt.

one of my favorite local recreational activities and restaurant in the area! we've done their hiking/walking(ridge loop imto scotts lake loop is our favorite trail), fat bike trails around Scott lake, beautiful and well kept in all seasons. the pool, hot tub & sauna are such as nice amenitie to be able to use, in the area its honestly a one of a kind place. the golfing looks very nice as well. in the winter the hiking trails around the lake aren't open but they let you walk on the snow shoe trails and you can see ice fishers. the truffle fries are to die for from their restaurant. workers are…

We had our September 2023 wedding reception at Young’s, and it was an absolute DREAM. Jill, Zack, and Amanda (and really all of the staff) made the entire process so easy. From the incredible dinner, and full charcuterie table, to amazing bar service, to the flexibility that a wedding day necessitates, Young’s delivered above and beyond. I would 100% recommend having a reception here for a U.P. wedding! Thank you to everyone at Young’s!

Did a snowshoe hike on a packed trail. Nice hike along the edge of the fairways. Ate dinner in the restaurant afterwards, food and service were good.

This golf course is gorgeous. Value incredible! If I lived in the UP this would be my home course. Everyone was so nice. We enjoyed the restaurant the next day. We had a twosome in front of us that were partying it up, nice guys, but slowing up the pace. (45 minutes to play one hole) I reluctantly called the pro shop and they sent someone out quickly and resolved the issue. Keep doing what you're doing. We'll be back!

I can't say enough good things about this place. The clubhouse is absolutely gorgeous with a great restaurant. Staff was so friendly and helpful for our first ever visit. The course was immaculate and such a good value. I pay double to triple that amount for less quality courses in the city. We can't wait for our next visit!

We have been to this restaurant for three times now, all experience have been mediocre at best. The last time we were there, 7-12-25 at 5:30, we were a group of 8 and it took two hours after ordering to receive our food. We watched groups come and go during this time frame after us !! We were told that the reason our food took so long is because three of us ordered the special “what” ! After receiving our special dinners notice we were missing the garlic mashed potatoes as advised, because they ran out! We were offered a a 15% discount “wow” how nice for terrible service and mediocre service!…

I am very upset and hurt by the Easter egg hunt this year. My 5 year old daughter went with her group to find eggs and there were none on the ground. Other parents had the same issue. So we told the lady running it and she said go with the next group. We did. When they blew the whistle we had to climb up a hill covered in fallen trees and prickly bushes just to try to find an egg. We were told every kid would get a golden egg but that didn't happen. The big kids took all the eggs and didn't let the little ones have any. I tried to talk to the lady running it and she said sorry and walked away…

Awesome golf course! Beautiful Fall colors at this time! Greens are in great shape, although the tee boxes need some work. The golf rates are great for this beautiful golf course.

My dad and I have been coming to George Young for about 20 years. We love the course and the clubhouse is beautiful. The prices have gone up on golf and beer, but so what. It's impossible to duplicate the times I have spent here with my dad. Thanks!

I’ve golfed here in the summer and snowshoed in the winter. Great experiences both times. A high quality golf adventure with memorable holes along the entirety of the course. A Bev cart girl roaming around providing refreshments. A nice indoor restroom part way thru the course. Snowshoe wise it was a nice experience, no charge for snowshoe. A couple of bucks for cross country skiing. Well worth it. As far as the golf course goes. Having just replayed it there are a couple notable holes. Hole 1 starts off with a nice basic par 4 off the back of the clubhouse. It winds to the left a little.…

My wife, Aunt, Uncle and I stopped here for lunch. It's a very nice place. Our lunch was delicious... I had the half pound bacon cheeseburger, my aunt and uncle had the fish tacos and my wife had the steak quesadilla and fries. Everyone was pleased with what they had ordered. The staff was friendly and made sure we were happy and checked on us often. Would definitely recommend this fine establishment.
