In summary

Gleneagles Country Club is appreciated for its scenic setting amid Chicago's forest preserves and offers two courses that are generally well-maintained, with friendly staff and reasonably priced food at the clubhouse restaurant. The courses are noted to be on the easier side, making them accessible for average players. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the condition of the bunkers, outdated facilities, and slow pace of play, especially given the price point.

Very nice golf course that is the middle of some of the best forest preserves in the Chicago area. There are two courses and both are very easy. Not many hazards to deal with and the fairways are wide open. Nice clubhouse that has a resteraunt that serves good food at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and helpful. During the week you can find rates as low as $35 a round with cart.

White course was in good condition yesterday. The fairways were in the best shape I've seen them and the bunkers actually had sand. Greens were a little bumpy but not too bad since our tee time was mid afternoon. Overall, it was great

Older course with lots of play evident. Played Red course not too long with moderate difficulty, good for average player. Pretty good condition, greens a little slow. Pace of play was average, Carts were older with no GPS or USB ports but adequate. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed the day

I've played this course for many years since I live close by but for the price, I cannot justify playing here anymore. For $60 you have unplayable bunkers. No sand and tons of weeds growing in them. Hardly anything has been upgraded or improved for the last 15yrs and yet they charge just as much or more as cog hill #1 and 3 which are in far better shape and right next door. It seems like management just doesn't want to put anything back into the courses. The golf carts are even the same ones I've driven a decade ago.

For a course that is closing for good next month, it was in surprisingly in good condition, considering. There were numerous groundspeople working on the course when I played during late morning. Greens were in generally good condition. Not a great course, with many similar holes - straight back and forth fairways, as most 98 year old courses are. But I was glad that I was able to play this course one more time, before it fades into Chicagoland golf history.

It looks like they recently narrowed the fairways. There was some tree damage from a recent storm. Everything was cleaned up well. Greens were in excellent condition, an improvement from the last time I played here. A great course for a great rate during twilight hours.

The price is nice, the course can be nice. The sand traps were all flooded and it hasn’t rained in 5 days. The pace of play is just brutal. 5 plus hours for 18 makes me hesitant to go out again.

I've played at this course for the past 20 years and have say I'm very disappointed in the condition. Payed $65 for 18 holes today and it was definitely not worth the money. Sand bunkers haven't been cleaned or taken care of at all. Driving boxes are in poor condition, no signs for holes, and poor fairways, and beat up greens.

I play this golf course with my men's league not my course of choice there's a difference between the red and white course and that would be the distance one shorter than the other they don't have a beverage cart on this course so you have to take something with you otherwise you could stop at the halfway house between the nine holes. They do have a nice restaurant people inside or so so depending on who Waits on you will be how you were treated one Smile as the other one doesn't. I would not recommend these courses however there are many more courses around them that are better to play Then T…

I've had absolutely terrible experiences at Gleneagles. Each time I've come to this course there is a wait at the tee box. How does that even happen? Why did I book a tee time for 8:27 am to have to wait to tee off at 8:50 am? We were on pace for a 6 hour round. Let me reiterate, a 6 hour round!! We just walked off after 15 it wasn't worth it anymore. On top of that be prepared for fore calls all day long. Bunkers are absolute trash, it's like hitting out of a parking lot. The carts are from the 70's. Lastly, $60 to play - completely not worth your money. I would pay $30 to play this course to…

Needs a huge overhaul. Heard it was closing next month. That would be the best thing that could happen. Unkept golf course. Weeds everywhere. Worst bunkers I've ever seen. Should have been $35 instead of $65

For mid November course was in good condition. The greens were especially nice. The leaves we're blown off the fairway. Wish I kept the ball in the fairway. Fun experience, thanks
