In summary

Golf Champlain receives praise for its well-maintained greens and interesting course layout, which many find to be a good value for the price. The staff is often highlighted for their helpfulness and kindness, with some visitors appreciating their efforts in resolving issues. However, there are criticisms regarding inconsistent service, with some experiencing rude interactions, and issues with cart availability and slow pace of play. Additionally, the condition of the bunkers and driving range are noted as areas needing improvement.

Honestly, this course is a disgrace. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. The staff was cold and unwelcoming — no smile, no courtesy, as if our presence was a nuisance. The course itself? In terrible condition. Fairways were dry and poorly maintained, the greens were bumpy, slow, and completely inconsistent. As for the bunkers, they looked more like gravel pits — no rakes available, and the sand (if you can call it that) was more like dirt mixed with rocks. This course feels like it’s being run without the slightest concern for quality or customer experience. Avoid it…

Beautiful course and staff was exceptional, they went out of their way to help us locate my son's lost cellphone.

Terrible experience at this course. 50 minute drive through traffic after work and get told no carts after 4 although when I booked on the online booking I added a cart. I explained that I’m recovering from a broken leg, so I physically need a cart as I’ve been off crutches for a week . The woman working at the counter was unbelievably rude and refused to let me take one. No compassion, no effort to accommodate, just a dismissive attitude that made it clear she couldn’t care less about the situation. It’s outrageous that a golf course would treat paying customers this way, especially someone…

Relative to the cost of green fees, this course is an incredibly good deal. The greens are in tremendous shape (despite all of the people not fixing their pitch marks) and offer the kinds of undulations and tricky bunkers that you'd expect from a private course. The layout is also quite interesting, with a range of natural obstacle changing up how you approach many of the holes. There are a few shortcomings - the fairways are only in decent shape, and rather than bathrooms in the clubhouse there's a porta-potty. There are also a pair of holes that are run alongside the road and make anyone who…

We originally decided on this location due to the good reviews, and called in advance to ensure availability as we were going for a friend's birthday. However upon arrival staff were nothing but rude and condescending. One particular worker was rude to, and insulted, our Uber driver, then proceeded to tell us that the course was not for beginners (we had a mix of experienced and new players) and that if we weren't familiar with the course, the other golfers would be upset, as would he, and essentially told us to beat it and go somewhere else. Do not spend your money here.

I showed up to the driving range at 7:15 pm to hit a bucket of balls, and the clubhouse closes at 8:30 pm. The shopkeeper was so kind to give a free bucket of balls to smash! Great service, and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I keep on giving this course a chance and it keeps on disappointing me. I walk the course now, but years past when I would ask to ride in a cart, dealing with the pro shop felt like an interrogation. And while I haven’t necessarily experienced any rudeness recently, to this day I would not say I have had a single positive interaction with an employee here (except Bernie who sells hotdogs at the turn, although I’m not even sure if he’s employed by the course). In terms of conditions, there is so much work needed. Greens are long, inconsistent, and patchy. Fairway is often hard to differentiat…

Tried this place out this am and was immediately impressed with the owner's kindness. Sadly, we were only able to get 6 holes in due to rain/lightning. When returning the cart, the owner waved us in and gave me a coupon to come back and play our game for free when the weather is better. Class act, and will absolutely be playing there many times this Summer. I'll also note that the greens were great, and nice fairways. Can't wait to go back!

Haven’t played the Champlain in 15 years but I must say, the terrain is in pretty good shape, fairways and greens… I was pleasantly surprised. I do recommend.

Great owners and very accommodating prices. The 18 holes vary in difficulty. Definitely recommended for a friendly game with friends.

Course itself is nice, however had a bad experience with the staff/organization. Showed up for a 4:38 tee time, was told out of the blue that you cannot rent carts past 4:30 (despite us doing this in the past, and never received any call regarding this even though we had booked carts on our reservation and would have gone somewhere else knowing this). To make matters worse, pace of play was so behind that we didn’t tee off until about 5:10, and was not told about this prior to paying (in the past we’ve been charged less of a fee when it’s clear we’re not going to be able to get close to fini…
