In summary

Governors Run Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, challenging layout, and reasonable pricing, with ongoing improvements to the course and clubhouse noted by several visitors. However, some golfers have expressed concerns about the condition of the greens and fairways, as well as issues with course maintenance and amenities. Despite these criticisms, many players enjoy the overall experience and are optimistic about the club's future enhancements.

The course was in pretty good shape being that it's been so hot plus a hurricane came through just a fee days ago. Also looks like they are doing updates (adding a restaurant) to the club house. Oh and also new carts too.

$30 for 18, first time there. - tee boxes horrible condition - fairways only decent on a few holes - greens are dead and sand on all holes - worst place I've ever played at - pro shop woman was friendly - if you want to go hit balls and and feel like you're in your back yard this is the place to go However I did enjoy the time spent with my buddies but this place needs some serious recovery management. Spend $10-15 more for better play somewhere else

It was an ok layout, but it's in rough shape. You can tell they're working on it, but may take a while.

This course has changed since the last time I played. I like the new lay out, but the greens are still needing some time to grow (that’s putting it nicely). The paths could use some attention and signage to a few holes were very confusing or missing. The clubhouse is getting a renovation that I believe will serve the total experience well. The lack of lunch menu was disappointing. They had a few hot dogs that were barely warm, and no condiments (until my group asked for mustard and ketchup). The course itself was fun and fairly forgiving. The price point is good. Overall we had fun playing and…

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE WEATHER BEFORE PLAYING. Payed for 18 holes and in the second hole the rain comes pouring down and they do not give a rain check. Do not spend your money here unless it is a perfect day.

The staff and the clubhouse were amazing… The golf course on the other hand, not so much. The greens are so horrible that you can’t even putt on them. And to continue this review, you can look down there on John Pow review I share the same sentiment that he does.

Very nice staff. The course has been under some changes, which are making it better, and yet the course is still in decent shape. Greens are a low B grade and fair ways are around the same. Course is still coming along but is very fun to play, not to mention it is very reasonably priced. The Pro Shop is stocked better than Dick's and the pricing is very competitive.

Much improved. Greens keepers are really doing a lot to improve the course. Greens are coming around and it's obvious they are spending some time and money to get the course into shape. I love the layout, but it's long if you're walking.

The owner has turned this into a dump. Tractors and trash everywhere. Campers on the actual course. It looks like the owner started about 10 different projects and then just said "nah, I'm good". Terrible. Go somewhere else.
