In summary

Great Gorge Country Club is highly praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, featuring three distinct sets of nine holes, each offering unique scenery and well-maintained fairways and greens. The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and professionalism, and the onsite amenities, including the restaurant and bar, enhance the overall experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional management lapses, such as delays in tee times and starter box inefficiencies.

Amazing what this course has become over the years, keeps getting better & better. Scenic courses, all three of them. Plus Hef’s hut as the onsite restaurant & 19th hole with food menu & bar

It was a good experience to play here. I came with my friend to play 18 holes. The service was professional and friendly. The parking lot is a short distance away from the course. They had shuttle to take you to the clubhouse or you can walk. Both fairway and green were well kept. The old hotel room was a little creepy.

Played the Quarry/Lake nines at Great Gorge for the first time and had one of my favorite rounds this year. The Fazio design is awesome—clever, memorable holes throughout. Fairways and tee boxes were in fantastic shape, greens were quick and tough, and the staff was very welcoming. Looking forward to coming back to try the Rail nine and the pitch-and-putt (which looks fun).

Great Course!. Some short holes some long!. Great mix of hard and “easy” holes.. Greens were running PGA speed.😂. Fairways were prestige!. Tee boxes amazing!. Shot a 97.. usually shoot in the 80’s but I’d be lying if I said the heat wasnt getting to all of us. But the Bev cart girl kept us stocked with beauty and ice cups..Dog at the turn was MUCH needed and delicious!. Staff friendly and informative!. Cart girls are SMOKIN HOT!. Every last one!. EVERY ONE!. Great Gorge Burger earned the 5th star!. And so did our bartending staff!. Love this vibe!. Will be back!.🏌🏾‍♂️

I recently played in a tournament here and was blown away by the course. The layout is unique with three distinct sets of 9 holes—Lakeside, Railside, and Quarryside—each offering a completely different experience and stunning scenery. From peaceful water views to rugged quarry backdrops, the landscape is incredible throughout. The course was in great shape, and everything was well-organized. Can’t wait to come back!

What beautiful views on this course. It was my first time here today. We must have hit the right time because we didn't feel rushed playing. Some of the greens had been aerated, so some not so great puts, but tee box and greens real nice. We will definitely be back here. We did the Quarry and Railroad. When we go back I'll add more green pics.

Great golf course if you live nearby, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth driving an hour or more just to visit.

Amazing value if you catch it at the right time or a hot deal. The course was in great shape despite the end of the season. Some tricky holes and unique obstacles. Found a ton of balls in the woods too. Do wish there was a ranger out as I got stuck behind a slow group on the back nine.

Played on Sat, 3/1/25. Considering a winter @38F degrees outside, they maintained the fairway reasonably well with a few greens a bit watery around the holes. Staffs are very kind. Enjoyed the round, and we will be back.

Course was in excellent condition. Layout is beautiful. Staff was good in the morning but when we attempted to go back and play another 9 in the afternoon they were quite rude. It was weird. (Different people from the morning). Would definitely come back.

Absolutely my favorite hidden gem in North Jersey. Truly beautiful with challenging courses amidst an incredible scenery. Quarry-Lake the highlight!
