In summary

Green Mountain National Golf Club is widely praised for its beautiful mountain setting, well-maintained course, and challenging layout that appeals to both low and high handicappers. The staff is generally regarded as friendly and helpful, with amenities like a restaurant and beverage cart service enhancing the experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and occasional staff over-vigilance regarding outside beverages.

Challenging course. Definitely has that championship course feel. Was in great condition. This is in my top 3 of nicest courses played now. No one was there when I went out except 1 group behind me. Felt like I had the course to myself. I was told they are just opening for the season though.

Nice course, pace of play was an issue. Turf and greens are in great condition, although the greens are a bit sunken making putting a bit ridiculous. Bigger issue was an over 6 hour round, waiting ~10 minutes on every shot. There was a group of 8 holding everyone up and ranger didn’t do anything to move them along. Overall still a beautiful course with a fun layout, but not worth the $150

Play the course on Saturday 8/16/25, this is the first time ever playing the course, the starter was extremely helpful on explaining where we needed to hit our tee shot on hole 2 which is a blind shot, the layout is amazing with incredible views, the fairways, bunkers, and greens were incredible. if you can't hit your driver straight, you might want to use a club that you can or bring a bunch of balls, either way the views far outweigh any lost ball!!!!! enjoy it, I have played a lot of courses all over the US and this is at the top of my list.

The course is fun to play and in great shape. Only 2 opportunities to mention: 1) the bunkers could be better maintained. There wasn’t enough sand in some and others were just not maintained at all. We had to rake and place in a few of the bunkers as a result. 2) it was a slow round. Despite tee times every 12 min, we were waiting on every hole. There was a ranger driving around but it didn’t seem like he was pushing people along at all.

Lovely mountain style course. Well maintained, some really fun holes. The restaurant was friendly and had fresh tasty food - breakfast and lunch. The starter was friendly and helpful. Take a cart! This course is not for walking!

This is a nice course tucked into the green mountain's of Killington . You'll find that it is well kept overall with undulating greens that run slow. A nice grill with a good selection of cold beer waits for you afterwards too. Overall a good experience, but overpriced @$140.00 in my opinion.

Great course, gorgeous in the fall with lots of mountain views. Layout is solid but you better be accurate off the tee. Would recommend they get some new carts! Crazy slow and easily added a few minutes a hole that results in 20-30 min overall for the round.

Green Mountain National – Vermont’s Premier Golfing Playground Our group of eight golfers spent an unforgettable day at Green Mountain National Golf Course in Killington, Vermont — and we’re still talking about it. We teed off in two foursomes at 8:30 and 8:40 AM, determined to take on 27 holes over the course of the day. What we got was not just a round of golf — it was a full-blown golfing adventure set against the breathtaking backdrop of Killington’s mountain vistas. Course conditions? Absolutely pristine. It had rained heavily the night before and even a bit that morning, yet the fairwa…

We do an 8-12 man outing at GMN every year playing 36 holes on Saturday, the course is beautiful and in great shape. The only problem was the marshals and the staff are extraordinarily over vigilant for outside beers. We've been doing this for 7-8 years at this point and we know the drill here that outside alcohol is not allowed so we did not bring any. One new guy on the trip found a beer in his bag and opened it up and was caught by the cart girl who was nice enough about it and poured it out. Then in-between rounds as we were buying lunch inside, we saw the marshal through the window going…
