Poor condition and not worth the fees. We golfed this based on website descriptions of a premium resort course. Very disappointing with burnt out fairways or snow mold, not sure. Skeleton staff, poor tee boxes at beginning of season?, driving range not open, empty ball washers, etc. you can find much better golf in the area for half the price. I told this to the young kid running the pro shop. He couldn’t care less and told me that we got a deal because fees go to $165 soon. No way you should pay that. Much better choices in the area such as Gaylord, Grand Traverse, Grandview, etc. I sent an e…

My wife and I booked a round at this beautiful course. The course was very well maintained. The greens were huge with a lot of undulation. Bunkers were in great shape. Service was exceptional. We played the front nine in under 2 hours. However, when we got to the turn there were 4 groups on number 10. Because of the time of day (6 pm), we decided to play the front nine again so we could at least get the full 18 in. Price was very reasonable…$124 USD for 2 golfers and a shared cart.

The course itself is absolutely gorgeous and as someone else said, challenging but playable. Any reviews that said the course was run down are not true anymore. It is very well-maintained! The lady who got us our tee time on Thursday over the phone (she was at cedar river) was extremely friendly and thorough. She was able to squeeze us in with a group of 3 for Saturday. Mind you, being only $30 this weekend, it was bound to be packed. We got to our tee time, what we thought was 20 minutes early. Just to be told that the group of 3 had added another person and that we would be alone and would h…

We played Hawk's Eye 18Sep24 and were very impressed. Hawks Eye is the best Shanty Creek course in my opinion and right there with any public course in Michigan. I've played all the Treetops and Boyne courses and this one was just as good if not better. The course was in great shape and very fun to play. Choosing the correct tee box is very important as this course is a challenge. Book Hawk's Eye and you will not be disappointed.

Horrible greens, tee boxes were the worst I’ve seen. Course itself is beautiful but they don’t take care of it. Ranger is a grumpy old man. Loves to yell at you for everything your doing wrong or going where they don’t want you to go. Kind of hard to know if there isn’t any signs or isn’t roped off… will never go back to this course due to cost/conditions and how the ranger treated us.

Nice course and well maintained. True up north golfing. Good challenge but not hard to play. Overall I'm glad I played here.

Visited hawks eye to use range.im a ambassador which means I pay a monthly fees and can use all shanty s courses ranges for free and get discounted golf. The guy behind counter said he would rather l use shuss or summit ranges. Gave no reason for his rudeness other than having to collect balls. I will be glad to spread word not to use hawks eye.

For the price, the conditions don’t match. Such a shame because this can be such a wonderful layout if properly maintained. Some combination of not enough maintenance or too much play but this course is slowly losing its charm year over year.

Most beautiful, peaceful course I have played. I was up here for the weekend and played this one last. So much fun!

Played there 8/3/2024. Course layout is great, however, when you pay $123 per round, you expect a great experience. The tee boxes were not great, and the sand was inconsistent. Pace of play was POOR!! It took us over 5 hours to play!!!! We were behind an outing of 36, and we waited on every shot at every hole after catching up to them on the 7th hole. We were told it was the foursome in front of them that were slow but with 9 foursomes behind the "slow group" it should have picked up for at least the last 5 holes, and never did. Not only that, we saw the beverage cart on the 3rd hole, and not…
