In summary

The Club at Lochenheath is highly praised for its well-maintained, challenging golf course with stunning views of East Grand Traverse Bay. Visitors frequently commend the friendly and attentive staff, as well as the excellent dining experiences, highlighted by Chef Eric's creations. However, some guests have noted issues with slow pace of play, occasional service lapses, and high prices, particularly in the restaurant.

Play it... From the tips!!! Great views and a tough; very tough challenge...great staff, small clubhouse but no waisted space, plenty to choose from with the LochenHeath logo... The restaurant is a solid 5 star, the food is some of the best I've ever had at a golf course... The outside patio views also are pretty great over looking the east traverse bay... This place is a little gem... Tons of slope on the greens so if the superintendent is in a bad mood it'll be a very very difficult day on the course.

Very dynamic and perfectly maintained golf course - not a boring shot out there. What really made this 5 stars was the awesome, warm hospitality of Patrick in the pro shop, and Terry the head pro. We had just flown in and were pretty beat, so their pleasant demeanor and attentiveness to any need was welcomed. Not only that, but since the beer cart was done for the day, they personally delivered beer and water to our group on the course. We will absolutely return. Above and beyond service. You set the bar high! Thanks guys.

9/2020 - went for lunch on an early fall afternoon during the pandemic & ate outside. Good social distancing practices & great service. We both had Chef Eric's morel bisque, again (see a review from last year below), which continues to be awesome. Also had the heirloom tomato capresé salad - it too was fantastic! And believe it or not, the cup of coffee I had was memorable (very smooth & silky, & I prefer dark roast). The view overlooking the course & East Grand Traverse Bay was fantastic. Though expensive ($69 for 2 without any alcohol), for a special treat, it's worth it, which is why I chan…

Had dinner at Lochenheath...and it was superb. The Delmonico steak was incredible, tender, juicy, seasoned perfectly served with a special potato, and carrots that were roasted and honey glazed...hats off to the staff and the chef, this was better than most of the very high end steakhouses that we visit. A real treat for sure.

I'm a little late it writing this review but it needs to written. The service at this restaurant was one of the best experiences I have yet had. Everything on the menu looked so good that I couldn't decide what to order. The chef came out and offered to make a seven course dinner with his choice of different menu options and wine pairings so that I could try as much food as possible. It was a night to remember, thank you!

Nice golf course. Course condition was excellent. Great practice facility. Staff was friendly and helpful. But...we never saw the cart girl after the fifth hole, and the last three water coolers were empty on a sultry summer day. It made for a long, hot and thirsty afternoon.

The food was phenomenal as was the service. The Chef visited our table and offered our 15 month old grapes, which are her favorite. We were very happy we chose to come here instead of eat at the resort we stayed at. We had crab cakes to start, filet mignon and scallops and a Caesar salad with steak. All of it was excellent, absolutely no complaints.

Course was in excellent shape. Greens are fast and very tricky. A tip sheet was provided. There was NO GPS on the carts which made the blind holes more difficult for shot placement. Some nice views of the bay but no where near that of Arcadia bluffs. Staff was accommodating, but nothing special. Paid $140 and not worth it for me, hence the 3 start rating. I would play it again in the $85 range. Had lunch at the Restaurant. Service was good and food was also good.

Do NOT buy gift cards, they can't track usage. Went to use a gift card from one of their members and, instead of $150, it was only worth $5. I spoke with Terry, and he couldn't track usage -- only the remaining balance on the card can be pulled from his computer. I left my all my contact info: name, phone, email, & mailing address. He was going to do further investigation at their morning meeting and get back to me. It has been nearly three weeks with no reply. Food is good (but costly), and the view from the deck is lovely. Unfortunately the waiter added fries to our order without permission…

Had really good burgers on a Friday and went back for a nice brunch on Sunday, beautiful view of the bay and very friendly service.
