In summary

Heartwell Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained driving range and convenient amenities, including a par 3 course that is ideal for practicing short game skills. Many visitors enjoy the nighttime play option, though some have experienced issues with inadequate lighting and slow pace of play. There are also concerns about maintenance, such as malfunctioning ball machines and insufficient staffing, which have affected the overall experience for some golfers.

Great place to practice golf! This driving range is very clean and well-maintained. Since they have lights, you can comfortably play even at night. Prices are reasonable 100 balls for $20, 70 balls for $16, plus medium and small bucket options (40 balls). Just pay at the cashier, get your code, and pick up the balls at the machine. The range has around 25 mats, and it’s usually less busy on weekdays. We normally go around 4–5 PM; it gets a little crowded, but you can still find a spot within 10 minutes. Overall, a really nice and convenient place to practice your swing!

I was disappointed to say the least. Made the decision to play a night tee time. Was really excited as it was a first for me and the photos showed great lighting. However this was far from my experience. Started on the back 9 and most of the lights weren't working. Had to have my group use their phone's flash lights. Obviously still wasn't good enough The Tee boxes/grounds were being redone so you had to start from the ground in front, which was all beat up (naturally). I feel like this is something they should disclose prior to purchase. To be fair, if I had played in the day time, I'm su…

Like the place, good range mats but too many people hanging out- with their dogs even! Sometimes there'll be 2 -3 people per stall waiting for that person to finish their 2 large buckets and allow the next person to hit! Etiquette needs to be adhered or taught to some of these people. The course too! The turnoff is that for a par 3 18 hole course,it shouldn't take you 4+ hours to finish! The longest hole is only 140 yards but the majority of issue is people tallying scores or just talking on the green after they've 3 or 4 putted-ever hear of just picking up the damn ball or waving the 1 or 2 gu…

Affordable golf - this is one of those things "you get with you pay for". We did 18 rounds of night golf and it just okay. Problem is the trees have not been trimmed properly so there are many dark spots, especially even on the tee boxes. Because this is 18 holes of par 3 the holes are all very close to each other and some holes could potentially be a par 2.5 if that was even a thing. Overall the grounds are not well maintained. Lots of dirt spots on the tee boxes. Again you get what you pay for.

Having the 18 hole golf course at Heartwell Park is really convenient. They are all 3 par holes so you dont have to bring all your clubs. Realistically depending on your game all you need is 7, 8, 9, pitching wedge, sand wedge & putter. This golf course is great to practice your short game on. They also have a driving range and it is lighted for night play.

Heartwell has taken a turn in the last year and a half It was always so organized and clean and the course itself was always maintained so well —now the bathrooms are dirty. There’s pee on the floor because they are not cleaned often and enough, ball machine doesn’t work, there aren’t enough carts and they are overbooking— their tee times are too close together. They do not have enough staff to keep the ball machine full and the baskets back where they belong —only one person on duty at the office so he can’t leave to check on anything. Restaurant didn’t open on time. Just seems like there’s n…

Man, seems like the driving range is closed all the time lately. Normally I wouldn’t care but with the membership prices seemingly increasing every other month, and on top of that providing only medium sized buckets as opposed to the large. I also understand my membership reaches out to all the Long Beach courses but unfortunately I get off work at 7:30 pm and Heartwell is open the latest. Came at 8pm to a full crowd/no empty bays (which is normal) only to be greeted with a Driving range is closed signed on the ball machine. Asked the pro shop worker why there’s a sign and it’s to no surprise…

We often visit this place, but today’s experience was extra appalling. I arrived around 8:10 to use the range, only to find the machine completely out of balls. The driver inexplicably circled the same area for an agonizing 30 minutes. A crowd quickly gathered at the ball machine, growing increasingly frustrated. It’s painfully clear that the staff here have no interest in providing service efficiently.(not the first time)They drag their feet and never replenish the balls. I sincerely hope the ball collector on 2/19 at around 8pm is held accountable for this incompetence. This is unacceptable,…

I’ve been golfing here for years and was apart of the junior program when I was little. I love playing this course with family and friends and have spent thousands to contribute to revenue. I am writing a 2 star review today because they took out the porta-potty bathroom on hole 13-14. I get that it is not the most cleanly but it is at least an option having only one bathroom on the course(other than the clubhouse) just isn’t enough.
