In summary

Leisure World Seal Beach is highly regarded for its extensive amenities, including a gym, pool, theater, and numerous clubs and activities, making it an attractive option for active seniors aged 55 and over. The community is well-maintained and offers a secure, quiet environment with friendly residents and staff. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the attitude of security personnel and the age and cost of upgrading facilities. Additionally, the small apartment sizes and strict communal living rules may not suit everyone.

Security needs an upgrade on their attitude and disposition. Came to see a relative and was told she didn't live there which she has for the last 7 years. After telling the man in the box she did live there. He then yelled at me because I called my relative "in his line"to have her call the gate. I understand this place is suppose to be safe for the elderly people, at the same you don't need to act like the relatives visiting are criminals or unsavory people.

I have visited friends who live here and they all love it. It looks safe. It also provides a lot of services for its residents. There is an outdoor amphitheater with great performers every season.

My aunt lives here and seems to really enjoy it. Make sure you have reservations or a pass to get through security. Make sure you carry your flag when you cross the street too.

You need an invite to get in, don't come for a casual drive. Set something up with a real estate agent if you want to visit. LW is well kept, but it is 70 years old. It's a good value, but most of the apartments are small. If you don't need to live in a palace, and want to retire near a big city... LW is a good option. Because the units are small apartments, your neighbors are close. People will check on you and care. But you also shouldn't live here if you want to blast your TV and yell all day. There's all kinds of clubs, activities, clubhouses, pool, gym, theater, churches, community gar…

Activities & facilities overrated and old, swimming pool one for about 9,500 people, security seems to be overwhelmed & do not know what they are doing, expensive for something you do not own and can throw you out anytime they want! Check their newspaper (once a month theft and criminal activities report), any Upgrades are Very Expensive, take time and You Must Use their own Contractors (cannot use outside people) who they charge triple!!! Everything you do must be approved by their office and They want your key to have so they can get in any time to check and inspect your Home!!!! I believe f…

Been here 10 years. Enjoy amenities which they have improved in recent years. Great summer concerts, leisure activities, dances, new improved gym, great green spaces, regular efficient gardening, new aquatic center, 9 hole golf course, remodeled and new Optum health center with great doctors of all specialties. Closed the pharmacy recently and haven’t replaced it yet, which has been disappointing. They need to replace it with some grocery items available like before.

Very quit and nice community to live in for those that are 55 and over. Lots of activities if you're the outgoing type. Parties, dances, clubs, hobbies, concerts, gym, pool, and more. There are transportation services and shuttles to take your family members to Doctor appointments or church. Everyone seems very nice. Many residents keep to themselves, as well. :-)
