In summary

Hendricks Field Golf Course receives high praise for its well-maintained greens, recent renovations, and friendly, attentive staff, making it a standout among Essex County courses. The course layout, featuring wide fairways and strategic challenges, is appreciated by golfers of all skill levels, though some mention that the pace of play can slow on weekends. While the setting is generally admired, there are occasional concerns about players not repairing divots and pitch marks on the greens.

The greens are okay but the roughs are to be avoided.. nice course. The staff of the course are wonderful.... been there twice and they just get better!! I have to mention the gentleman called Hollywood (starter)and the front desk crew. Can't remember their names. They were all awesome

Since the renovations, this course is gorgeous and don’t let the score card fool you. It may be short but your ball will disappear due to all the fescue they let grow. Props to Essex County for turning this course into a beautiful track.

Golfing in New Jersey December 28th 2024, it don't get any better. I was really blessed that day, 18 holes and a cart = free. Winning

Living in the area, I have played this course a lot and have seen it improve year after year. Drainage use to be a big problem on the back nine, but that has been fixed with the install of a much needed drainage system. If you like walking instead of riding, you'll like how easy this course is to walk. Pace of play on weekdays is fast but can get very slow on the weekend. (Like just about every muni out there). For the 2020 season the greens have been rolling great and the tee boxes have been in good shape too. I gained a new found appreciation for Hendricks during the quarantine. Playing here…

My recent round at Hendricks Golf Course was an absolute delight. The staff embodied the professionalism one expects from a North Jersey establishment—friendly, cracking jokes, sharp, and exceptionally attentive. Don’t be late for a tee time these fellas don’t mess around lol It was my first experience playing in a city environment , and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall vibe. The greens were immaculately kept, showcasing the dedication of the course maintenance team. The course itself provided a fun and challenging round, making it an experience I would undoubtedly recommend to fello…

An very nice venue whose recent refurbishment is greatly appreciated. The course is challenging but not overly tough, the pace is good (3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hours) and the staff is friendly and helpful. Reading the greens is on you, though: sometimes that putt breaks a little more than you think and sometimes not quite as much. That's golf and this is a great place to play it....

Its a great golf course, but it is surrounded by busy roads. Being in Belleville, its an amazing site in spring because the town of Belleville was gifted plenty of cherry blossom trees. In the spring they bloom and its incredible to play golf here.

Great public course. Fairways are wide making it a fun course to play. Easy course to walk as well. Maybe more importantly, staff are friendly and accommodating. Also, kind of cool to see this guy on the border of Newark. Lol

I've gone here twice and it was two weeks in a row. I like this place better than Bryne (where theres one fellow that is a total dbag and hates his life). If you're a resident of Essex county and would like to hone your craft at a less than challenging golf course while being treated with some respect this is the course for you.

Staff helps you tee off quickly and sometimes on the back nine if it is open. The course usually plays within three and a half hours. Tees and greens are always in great condition. The turkey hangs out around the 11th hole so watch your food.

Overall I rate the course a 4.5. The course is in excellent condition, especially the greens and bunkers. The staff is friendly and helpful and you can tell they care about the golfers and the facility. The course is not long but it can be challenging. There are a few elevated greens with strategic bunkers, the rough is penalizing and there are a fair amount of trees to block wayward shots. The course layout was redesigned a few years ago and there are three par fives in the first five holes which is a little odd. From the white tees they average 465 yards and from the blue tees 485 and are de…

Played during our family trip to NYC. Really enjoyable course with too wide fairways, greens are good. I shot way under my handicap as asian courses are mostly harder.
