In summary

Hermitage Golf Course is praised for its beautiful and challenging courses, well-maintained greens, and scenic setting, with unique features like roaming sheep adding to the charm. The staff and amenities, including the restaurant and accommodations, receive positive feedback for their quality and service. However, some visitors express concerns about the slow pace of play and management issues, such as overbooking and insufficient course marshalling, which can detract from the overall experience.

Top to bottom this place gets 5 stars. The course is impeccable, the customer service is top notch and the value cannot be beat. My golf group has been to countless cities and courses and this is now on the top of our list. We are considering returning next year and just staying on property. The little things they do like a 87 cent beer for showing your score card was just icing on the cake. Well done Hermitage staff!

What a gorgeous piece of property! 24 of us rented a lodge and challet for a 3 day golf event and had an absolute blast. The rooms were awesome!! We played ultimately 5 rounds of golf on the Generals Retreat and the Presidential Reserve and was 100% blown away by how amazing this course is. The club house and restaurant was also perfection and the staff was amazing. This is a must see!!!!

Both courses have good layouts and are in generally good shape. The pro shop staff is friendly and accommodating. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the pace of play was painfully slow (5.5 hour round) and the marshals weren't doing a darn thing about it. I've been playing here for 25 years, and it is getting busier and busier. Great problem to have as a course, but you need to keep the pace of play in the 4.5 hour range.

Played President’s Reserve. The course needs to reassess their spacing of tee times. This was a 5 hour round on a Thursday. The tee boxes are rock hard with no grass. They did not list cart path only online even though this is clearly an everyday policy. This course gets 2 stars because the greens are in great shape. The rest of the course is worth $40 not $110.

This review is for the President’s Reserve course. Only 20 minutes from Nashville. The course is in great condition, beautiful, challenging and fun. Sheep and Rams roaming and mining their own business. Received a free round after 4th full priced round. Pretty good deal if you live nearby. And the beer after the round is only a penny per stroke, for real. You just need to show your scorecard. The total beers for our 3 some were less than $3.00. No joke!

Normally a decent spot. Called to confirm a tee time I saw on their website (as their website tee time option kept kicking me out). Got a “Paul” on the phone and he proceeded to ask me why Im calling him and that I still need to give my same information over the phone as I do on the site. I said Im aware, but I want to confirm bc Im getting kicked out of the tee time. He got smart again and said something douchey again like hes being put out to do the only task his job entails by a customer paying $112 dollars. So after I hung up he called back and changed his tune. This is why people hate gol…

This course was beautiful aesthetically! Otters, sheep and rams, deer roaming around the course quietly and the views of each hole were awesome. Staff was courteous but did not see them much out on the actual course and you’re left to golf to yourself, if you like that or not.

While visiting Nashville for a convention at the Gaylord, I was able to golf with my friend Lee R. We golfed the Presidents course and it was in great shape… no sheep on the course, however we did see them get let out on the turn. The golf course overall is challenging. This is one I would recommend for anyone interested in golf.

Came here for a business trip outing, the course was in excellent condition!! Challenging but very fun! The Sheep are so cool to see, and make for some added entertainment and spectators when driving off the tee box or making putts! Only advice is stay hydrated in the summer when playing as the humidity can get you by the end of the round!

I was in the area with a little time to kill. Wanted to practice putting and chipping and the guy working in the golf shop acted like l was going to try to sneak out on the course. He finally said I could putt if that’s the only place I went. Very condescending. I’m 70 years old, and don’t sneak out onto golf courses or practice facilities. Just not how you should treat people at a public course.

Golf course and amenities are great, but our round was slow and no marshalling. We played on a Friday at 12:30, and our round was nearly 4.5 hours because of one group in front of us, waited on every hole. There was a starter on #1 and a Marshall at the clubhouse but then didn’t see any course management during play. For the greens fee, we expected more diligent course management.

Had a fun (but very slow) round here yesterday. Fairways were in excellent shape, greens were decent, tee boxes were looking rough… which makes sense because none of the carts were loaded w/ divot repair. The course is wayyy overbooked as well. So much so that the first starter was actively announcing “10-minute warnings” for tee times over a loudspeaker on the driving range - which I had never experienced before. Like ever. Haha. For $100+ per person, Hermitage needs to revisit how they can better implement a culture of course management + curate a better atmosphere/experience for guests. Ha…
