What People Say

In summary

Riverside Golf Course has received positive feedback for its friendly staff and recent improvements under new management, particularly in maintaining the fairways and overall course layout. However, many visitors have expressed concerns about the condition of the greens, which are often described as poorly maintained and challenging to play on. Additionally, some patrons have noted dissatisfaction with increased prices not aligning with the quality of amenities, such as range balls and tee boxes.

Since August this course has really made a turn. The owners brought on a new Superintendent, John and he has done everything within budget and more to make this place the most playable public Bentgrass course in Nashville. The team they have assembled has gone far beyond any privately owned public course in the area. Over the winter they have done tree work to give the greens the light they need, seeded the tee boxes, sodded the approach areas from cart path, soiled roots on trees in play, and completely revamped the bunkers without having to rebuild. The fact that this has been done with a st…

They have increased the price of range balls ($12 ->$16 for large) overnight. This would be fine if the range ball quality or grass surface improved with the increase, but you’re still getting old beaten up balls with which ≈ 20 of them have no dimples or are flat on one side. You’re not the only driving range in Nashville, and there are other competitive prices with higher quality balls of which I will be seeking from now on.

This course is grossly overpriced $52 for 18 to tee off in a sand box on half the holes and the fairways are non existent all of them look like the photo attached. The greens are bumpier than an interstate, with a combination of dead spots, sand, and dirt it’s a rough roll. However, concessions are reasonably priced.

STAY AWAY. The absolute worst golf course of all time. I mean, what are we doing here? They just raised their prices and majority of the greens are a crater field. Clearly the price increase didn’t go to anything worthwhile. Pure insanity they charge money to play here. The greens are horrendous, half the fairways are dirt, and bring a Hammer to get your tee in the ground because the tee boxes are rock hard. The grounds crew waters the greens in the middle of play and holds everyone up. Take your time and money elsewhere. A putt putt course is more enjoyable than this awful course. They always…

Played the executive course as a walk up, staff was friendly and course was fine. Alot better than I was lead on to believe through previous reviews! Exactly what I was looking for, just a short 9 hole casual round.

Actually, this is about as basic of a golf course as it can get. The links are barely kept up with, and the greens are in some of the worst states I've ever seen. None of them are manicured or taken care of properly. After saying that, it is an older course and is only about 20 bucks for a cart and 18 holes. It is just that you can tell they do the bar minimum to keep it up, and it shows. Tee times are easy to get, and you can usually walk right up and play. If you love to get out and just spend time with the boys, then it'll work. Just temper your expectations prior to going!

Greens were in terrible shape. Most of the greens are similar to the photo. Played again, Easter Sunday. Green were better, but aerated. Told work is being done to improve the course by new ownership.

Not one to be overly dramatic, but this is honestly the worst course I have ever played. I would be embarrassed to charge people money to play here - they should be paying people to play! The layout is so strange, and the condition of the course as a whole, especially the greens, is awful. Safe to say that I'll never be back.

Love the people here. If the rates are going to climb, though, they need a greens keeper who knows how to keep grass in good shape. Also I could tell today that the pins haven’t been moved in weeks. This course is a lot less swampy than it used to be, but it’s not worth $52 a round

I'm posting here because their *Contact* page on website doesn't work. My house is across the river from the golf course. They have 2-3 HUGE VERY BRIGHT lights that blast our side of the river all night long, every night. RUDE. I've emailed them and politely asked that they at least dim the lights. No response. STOP THE INTENSE LIGHT ASSAULT, PLEASE!

My go to place for the range. I've been going here for about a year. They continue to work at making this course a better place. Like the addition of new golf carts this year.

I have played this course numerous times in the past. Never really impressed but always thought it just needed some TLC. WELL, I played yesterday and it looks like it is finally getting just that! Impressed with the improvement's! Looks like they are making a significant investment. We will be back!
