In summary

Hickory Point Golf Course is widely praised for its exceptional course conditions, with well-maintained greens, fairways, and sand traps, and a layout that offers a good balance of challenge and accessibility. The staff is generally seen as friendly and accommodating, and the course provides a variety of amenities, including a practice range and a clubhouse with dining options. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about overcrowding during events and inconsistencies in customer service, particularly related to time management on the course and cart availability during tournaments.

We had a blast exploring Trees on the Tee at the golf course! The weather was a bit chilly, so it's a good thing we bundled up. This is perfect for families or a date night. You definitely need to add this to your winter bucket list! 🌲🏌️‍♂️🧣

I believe the condition of this golf course is the best I've ever played. The grass was perfect on every green and every fairway. All the pictures are from the front side. The front side is pretty straight forward with decent size fairways and mostly straight holes. Just about the time you're amazement on how manicured the grass is starts to wear off and you're warmed up hitting straight drives and approach shoots, the back fairways have a little more undulations. There is a long pair 5 on the back that looks peculiar as you learn the hole. Next time won't be so perplexing. The greens have…

🎄 We've been coming to Trees on Tees for the last 4 years now. When it first started it was fun, organized and not too crowded. Now they oversell tickets and push people over into already full time slots from canceled dates. This makes it much more crowded, longer lines and more difficult to park (they had to make an overfill parking lot 2 blocks down the street). This once unique holiday experience is starting to lose its appeal because of overcrowding now 🎄

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This course is in phenomenal condition even at peak heat season (it reached 100° with heat index when I played). It is greatly manicured (tees, fairways, greens, fringe, and collars are all mowed immaculately)! The condition this course was in rivals (and even beats out) some private country clubs I've played before. Great course design (not the most original). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Love Hickory, and Red Tail while we're on it, but I'm annoyed lately with pricing. You want to charge me $46.50 to play on a Fri AM, that's fine. But when I purchase my Adult + Cart 60 punch pass at $1,400, I'm only getting like a $5 discount for 30 rounds. Kinda bogus... Guess that's what happens when your courses are owned by a Park District. DON'T purchase punch passes through Decatur Park District. It's not worth it. Get the Annual Pass if you're going to spend $1400+ on golf passes.

Had a less than stellar experience here yesterday. The course itself is beautiful. The staff is kinda silly, though. We were on probably hole 14 or 15 and the 'ranger' stopped us and told us we were almost over our 4 hour time limit to golf 18. While we have heard of a time limit at other much nicer courses, I did not understand this admonishment at all. We did explain we had stopped for lunch and then he told us they expected golfers to get their food and go. Mind you, there was a group of four ahead of us that occasionally we had to wait on and no one for at least two holes behind us!! We we…
